VARANASI — Researchers at the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi, have unveiled a groundbreaking household waste management solution: a "bio-converter dustbin" capable of transforming kitchen waste into organic compost in just 30 days.<h3>A Breakthrough in Micro-Level Composting</h3>While large-scale waste-to-compost plants have been utilized for years, this innovation marks a significant step forward in providing a practical, micro-level solution for individual households. Developed by the Department of Biochemical Engineering, the device addresses the growing urban challenge of managing household organic waste.<h3>Scientific Innovation for Rapid Decomposition</h3>Typically, biodegradable waste such as fruit and vegetable peels and leftover food requires approximately 90 days to decompose into compost under standard conditions.
