Grammy voting dates and eligibility period
The Recording Academy FAQ lists August 31, 2025, to August 28, 2026, as the product eligibility period. Online entry ran from July 7 to August 21, 2026. First-round voting was scheduled for October 12 to October 22. Final-round voting runs from December 10, 2026, to January 7, 2027. An entry is a recording submitted for consideration. A nomination is the outcome of the relevant selection process. The FAQ explicitly distinguishes the two. What changes at the 2027 Grammys?
The organizer's viewing guide lists five new categories: Best Asian Pop Music Performance, Best R&B Collaboration or Duo/Group Performance, Best Traditional Pop Vocal Performance, Best Traditional Folk Album and Best Latin Song. It says the nominations announcement covers 100 award categories. A new category creates a route for recognition under its rules, but it does not establish who will be nominated.
The category descriptions help explain the additions. Best Traditional Folk Album covers traditional folk recordings, including characteristic song structures, rhythms and instruments. Best Latin Song recognizes songwriters for newly written songs whose lyrics are at least 51 percent Spanish and that meet the current eligibility year.
