NEW DELHI: Crompton's Energion Groove Remote and Energion Groove Regmote listings both describe a 28W, 1200mm BLDC ceiling fan, but their control descriptions differ. The Remote page specifies remote control; the Regmote page explicitly offers remote and regulator control. Buyers replacing a fan should check the complete variant name before discussing the existing wall control with an installer.
| Listing | Control description | Colour options shown |
|---|---|---|
| Energion Groove Remote | Remote control | Brown, Opal White, Onyx, Satin Sand, Light Pine Wood, Dark Cherry Wood, Majolica Blue |
| Energion Groove Regmote | Remote and regulator control | Brown, Opal White, Ivory, Coffee Brown, Satin Sand, Onyx, Titanium Effect, Conch Cream, Light Pine Wood, Dark Cherry Wood |
These are the options shown on the respective official pages, rather than a claim that every finish is immediately available from every seller. The shared Groove name identifies the family; Remote and Regmote identify the listings that need to be compared.
Start with the control you expect to use
The practical question is where somebody in the room expects to change the speed. If the plan is to use a wall regulator as well as a handset, the relevant written description is on the Regmote page. The Remote page's control field alone does not establish compatibility with a particular existing regulator.
Ask the installer to match the selected product's instructions to the wall equipment before fitting it. A familiar switch plate in the room is insufficient evidence of compatibility. Keep the full model description on the quotation so that the control arrangement agreed before purchase can be checked against the supplied carton.
This distinction is particularly easy to miss when matching a wood-look fan to a room. Light Pine Wood and Dark Cherry Wood appear on both listings. Choosing by the finish alone can therefore leave the control choice unresolved, even though the product photographs and family name look reassuringly familiar.
At handover, keep the handset and the model paperwork together. If a room is used by different family members, agree where the handset will stay and have the installer demonstrate the selected control arrangement before leaving.
Read the performance fields together
The official specification tables give both listings an air-delivery figure of 220 CMM and a speed of 350 RPM. They also identify the 1200mm size and 28W input. Those fields describe different aspects of the fan; a wattage number by itself does not explain the control method or the listed airflow.
For a replacement, carry the complete set of fields into the comparison: size, rated input, airflow and controls. This prevents a discussion about energy use from obscuring the everyday requirement that the fan fit the intended location and operate through the controls the household expects.
The written specification is also a more useful purchasing record than a photograph of the finish. Save the page for the exact listing and selected colour, then ask the seller to confirm the model identifier on the order. A quotation that says only Crompton BLDC leaves too much of this particular choice unstated.
Do not flatten the warranty into one number
The Regmote specification separates a five-year motor warranty from a three-year PCB warranty. A claim involving the electronic control board therefore needs the component description as well as the purchase date. The longer motor period should not be copied across the entire fan.
The Remote page itself needs clarification: its product-information table describes five years from purchase, while specification icons elsewhere on that page say two years. Buyers should ask Crompton to reconcile that wording for the precise unit and obtain the applicable warranty document before relying on a duration.
Retain that document with the invoice and the full model name. If a fault later develops, identify whether the complaint concerns the motor, electronic controls or another part, and ask the service desk which term applies. That is a firmer starting point than quoting the longest warranty badge visible on a family page.
