NEW DELHI: Crompton's Solarium Neo storage water heater has official listed MRPs of Rs 12,500 for the 10-litre version, Rs 13,500 for 15 litres and Rs 14,500 for 25 litres. The current storage listing shows Ivory across these capacities. These are manufacturer reference prices inclusive of taxes, rather than quotations for installation or a retailer promotion.

Check storage before comparing capacity

Crompton uses the Solarium Neo name on more than one water-heater listing. Its water-heater collection also includes instant products carrying that family name. A quotation reading only Solarium Neo is therefore incomplete: ask for the storage description, capacity and full product identifier before comparing the amount.

That is particularly relevant when an installer or shop sends a short message with a model name and a price. A lower figure might refer to a different appliance type rather than a better price for the storage version in this table. Matching the written description is the first useful comparison.

Within the linked storage listing, capacity is the main option a buyer must select. Write it into the order and check it against the carton at delivery. The largest tank should not become the default merely because it carries the highest price; the intended bathroom and the household's hot-water routine still need to be discussed.

Plan the physical installation

The product-information sections list different dimensions for the capacity options. That makes it sensible to have the installer check the proposed unit against the available wall space, pipe position and access for later service. A product photograph gives little help with those practical checks.

Ask for the dimensions and mounting requirements for the selected unit in writing, particularly if replacing a heater in an existing recess. This is a capacity choice with a physical consequence: moving to another tank size can change what must fit above the taps even when the family name and Ivory finish remain the same.

The page lists the heater, flexible pipes, plug tops, fasteners and a multifunction valve among the included components. Check the supplied items during the installation handover. A contents list should be kept separate from any promise about the labour or additional materials needed at your address.

Read the warranty by component

Crompton's storage product information gives seven years for the tank, three years for the heating element and two years for the product. These periods do not describe the same component. Keep the warranty card and invoice together so that a later complaint can be checked against the relevant part.

For example, a heating-element complaint should be described as such when booking service, rather than relying on the longer tank period. Ask the service desk to identify the applicable coverage and any separately chargeable work before authorising a repair. The headline warranty number alone cannot settle the job sheet.

There is also a specification inconsistency to resolve before purchase: heating-element icon text on the page does not agree with its product-information wattage field. This article does not treat that field as settled. Ask Crompton to confirm the rating for the exact capacity and check the appliance label and supplied instructions.

The broader Solarium marketing paragraph mentions smart functions across the range. Buyers should seek explicit confirmation for the chosen Neo unit before assuming it has an app, voice operation or scheduling. A family-level paragraph is less useful than a feature list tied to the exact model on the invoice.
