NEW DELHI: Nissan Gravite's quoted 625-litre boot is available with the third-row seats removed, leaving a five-seat cabin. With one third-row seat removed, Nissan specifies 320 litres and six seats. Neither figure describes luggage room with every passenger seat occupied, a distinction that matters when planning a family trip.
| Petrol Gravite configuration | Official luggage figure | What changes |
|---|---|---|
| Five seats | 625 litres | Both third-row seats removed |
| Six seats | 320 litres | One third-row seat removed |
| Seven seats | No figure used here | Third row retained for passengers |
The luggage number depends on the seats
The distinction comes from the footnotes to Nissan's official petrol-model brochure. Its third row has independently removable seats as well as a split-folding arrangement. Removing a seat and folding it are different operations, so the brochure's stated luggage capacity should be matched to the exact layout shown, rather than treated as a permanent boot measurement.
For an Indian household travelling with grandparents, children and suitcases, that makes the passenger count the starting point. A journey using every seat cannot also use the space created by taking the rear seats out. The useful question is how many people and bags need to travel together, rather than how large the biggest number in the brochure looks.
The six-seat layout is the intermediate option in Nissan's table. It retains a place in the third row while releasing the space occupied by the other seat. That arrangement deserves its own luggage check: a family should try its actual bags in the available space, since a volume in litres does not describe the shape of a suitcase or the width of the loading opening.
What the petrol brochure actually covers
Nissan's petrol brochure lists Visia, Acenta, N-Connecta and Tekna. Its powertrain matrix shows the manual across those grades, with EZ-Shift availability confined to N-Connecta and Tekna. The cargo footnotes sit in the technical specification section, rather than being presented as a special luxury feature of the highest grade.
The brochure also lists sliding and reclining second-row seats and independently removable third-row seats in the equipment description. These adjustments explain the model's emphasis on changing the cabin to suit a particular trip. They do not establish that every seating position can be occupied in every possible luggage arrangement.
This is a different question from the purchase cost. The existing Nissan Gravite price list: Rs 5,73,400 to Rs 9,08,500 deals with the variant ladder. Here, the point is to read the luggage claim correctly before deciding which cabin layout a journey requires.
Keep the CNG version separate
Nissan's current product page also promotes a twin-cylinder CNG kit. The petrol brochure's luggage figures should not automatically be transferred to that installation. A fuel-system change can alter the space available for bags, and the documents read for this report do not establish an equivalent CNG luggage capacity for these layouts.
The separate Nissan Gravite CNG kit warranty: 3 years, private registration only covers the installation's ownership terms. Keeping that issue separate avoids combining a petrol cargo claim with a CNG specification that has not been verified.
Who this layout is for
The modular arrangement is relevant to households whose passenger count changes between weekday use and family outings. Its practical appeal lies in being able to exchange unused seating for luggage room. For a family that regularly travels with every seat occupied, the largest published boot figure is less useful than a demonstration of the fully occupied cabin.
A useful inspection would begin with the family seated comfortably, followed by a check of the space remaining for the bags they normally carry. If the rear seats will be removed regularly, the household also needs somewhere suitable to keep them between trips. That is a practical consequence of removable seating, rather than a feature captured by the capacity figure.
Readers considering another family MPV can also consult the Nissan Magnite price list October 2026: Rs 5,69,400 to Rs 8,76,000. This report makes no luggage-capacity comparison between the two vehicles: such a comparison would need the same passenger configuration and measurement basis.
