NEW DELHI: Hyundai's Creta Electric uses 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh battery packs, but battery size alone does not identify the equipment fitted to a particular trim. Read the battery heading first, the full variant name next and the individual feature row last. Hyundai's official feature matrix separates those choices.

Begin with the complete variant name

The highlights page groups Executive, Executive Tech, Premium, Excellence and Excellence Knight under the smaller battery. Its larger-battery list names Executive (O) LR, ESmart (O) LR, Excellence LR and Excellence LR Knight. The separate features page also contains a Lounge column. These names should be carried through in full when checking a quotation against the equipment table.

That detail matters when a conversation uses only words such as Executive or Excellence. A handwritten shortlist can lose the battery suffix, while a broad description such as top model can hide which row of the matrix is being discussed. Copy the complete description from the actual vehicle offer before comparing anything else.

For this Creta, the useful distinction is between powertrain capacity and cabin equipment. Both battery versions have the same listed length and wheelbase. Moving to the larger pack therefore should not be read as moving into a longer-bodied Creta. It changes the powertrain specification; the equipment still needs its own inspection.

Read across a feature row

Take the driving-assistance section as an example. Hyundai marks Forward Collision Warning and Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go for Excellence, Excellence Knight, Excellence LR, Excellence LR Knight and Lounge. Their appearance in the brochure does not make them universal across all Creta Electric versions.

The same method works for comfort equipment. Pick the item that matters to the family, locate its exact row, then follow that row to the selected trim. Do this individually for a camera, seat function or charging convenience. Avoid transferring a feature from an adjacent column merely because both cars have LR in their names.

When reading the table on a phone, keep the column heading visible. A wide matrix can be difficult to follow after scrolling sideways or down the page. Saving the relevant part with both the feature name and variant heading is a practical way to keep a useful record for the delivery discussion.

Keep the two battery specifications beside the selected trim throughout the exercise. On this model, LR identifies the Long Range powertrain, while names such as Excellence identify equipment choices. Reading those parts separately makes it easier to spot a mismatch between a demonstration car and the version on the paperwork.

Keep range claims in their proper place

The range figures in the facts table are certification results. Hyundai identifies the test procedure and says certification uses controlled conditions with a new battery pack. Treat those numbers as a common reference for the two battery options, rather than as a guaranteed distance for every journey.

A family comparing the versions can make a more useful shortlist by writing down its recurring journey and charging opportunities beside the battery choice. Then keep a separate list of essential equipment. This prevents the bigger range figure from swallowing the rest of the comparison, especially where a specific assistance feature is the reason for considering a higher trim.

Before taking delivery, match the full variant description on the paperwork to the car being handed over. Ask for a demonstration of the features on the shortlist. If the website's general highlights and the detailed matrix leave a question unresolved, obtain a written specification for that vehicle rather than filling the gap from a photograph.
