NEW DELHI: Maruti Suzuki's Ertiga page lists third-row AC with three-stage control, rear Type-C fast charging and a 17.78 cm SmartPlay Pro system. These are separate cabin functions to inspect on the exact variant being considered. The page also warns that features vary by version, so a model-level feature description should be checked against the written equipment list.

Three stages describe the rear control

Start with the AC demonstration while the vehicle is stationary. Ask where the rear control is located and what each setting changes. The official description specifies three stages; it does not call this a three-zone climate-control system. Keep that distinction in your notes rather than expanding a short marketing label into a different technical claim.

Have someone sit in the third row while another person operates the controls. Try the available settings and inspect how easily the airflow can be directed towards the intended occupants. A driver assessing the front vents alone cannot report what the people at the back will find comfortable. Their feedback belongs in the same notebook as the driver's observations.

Repeat the check with the seating positions arranged for the family, rather than leaving the cabin in a display arrangement. For a school run, rear occupants may care about reaching a control themselves. On a longer journey, a family may prefer the driver or another adult to make adjustments. Work out that routine during the demonstration.

Bring a phone and the cable you use

Maruti identifies Type-C fast charging for rear passengers on the current product page. Use the phone and cable that will normally travel in the car, then confirm that charging starts and that the cable reaches the intended seating position without pulling tight. This practical check establishes more than looking at an unused socket.

The page description used here does not establish a particular wattage or a charging time for your phone. Record only what has actually been demonstrated. If charging power is important to the household, ask for the socket specification applicable to that vehicle and compare it with the phone's requirements before treating the word fast as a quantified promise.

Charging and infotainment should also have separate entries on the checklist. A successful charging check does not by itself establish phone projection or any particular data function. Ask the demonstrator to explain which connections serve which purpose, then try the functions you expect to use while the car remains safely parked.

Listen from the passenger seats

The Ertiga page describes a 17.78 cm SmartPlay Pro touchscreen with ARKAMYS sound processing. Ask for a short demonstration of the controls and listen from the rear as well as the front. Keep the audio at a conversational level so occupants can judge whether the settings work for a shared family journey.

Our Ertiga and XL6 price guide covers the range's financial context. Use the complete trim and transmission name when matching that comparison to a cabin demonstration. The screen in a display car should not become an assumed feature on every quotation carrying the Ertiga name.

Turn the demonstration into a written checklist

The official variant page identifies seven seats in its specification comparison. That makes a family-wide check useful: rear cooling, cable reach and audio preferences can produce different answers from different positions. Mark each observation against the seat where it was made, instead of describing the whole cabin with a single comfort verdict.

Readers weighing fuel options can consult our Maruti CNG guide; those looking at transmission alternatives can use the Maruti automatic range guide. Keep those mechanical comparisons alongside the cabin checklist, then confirm each required feature against the particular Ertiga version on the final paperwork.
