NEW DELHI: Skoda Kushaq has an electric sunroof across its current India range, while Prestige and Monte Carlo receive the panoramic version, according to Skoda's model page. The difference matters when a brochure photograph makes the larger roof look like equipment shared by every version.
| Kushaq trim | Sunroof described by Skoda | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Classic+ | Electric sunroof | Opening and shade operation |
| Signature | Electric sunroof | Opening and shade operation |
| Sportline | Electric sunroof | Do not infer panoramic roof from styling |
| Prestige | Panoramic sunroof | View and controls from both rows |
| Monte Carlo | Panoramic sunroof | Roof equipment alongside the trim's styling |
What is standard, and what changes higher up
Skoda's updated Kushaq announcement identifies the electric sunroof, alloy wheels, Climatronic and LED lighting among the standard equipment. The current India page then makes the roof distinction more specific by naming the versions with the panoramic arrangement. Read those statements together when checking an equipment list.
An electric roof is already available without moving to the top of the range. That changes the question a household needs to answer: whether the larger roof itself matters enough to influence the variant decision. A photograph taken from above cannot answer how the cabin feels from a passenger's usual seat.
Take the same seat in both versions during a showroom visit. Ask for the shade and opening controls to be demonstrated, then check the view with the shade closed as well as open. Families should include the rear passengers in that exercise, especially if the roof is being considered mainly for their benefit.
Sportline and Monte Carlo are separate choices
The range lists Classic+, Signature, Sportline, Prestige and Monte Carlo. Sportline's name should not be treated as shorthand for all the equipment offered by Prestige, and a sporty exterior does not establish which roof is fitted. The official roof allocation places Prestige and Monte Carlo together for this particular feature.
That is a useful distinction in the Kushaq because the trim names and powertrain names appear alongside one another. Write down the full version from a quotation before comparing equipment. A familiar trim badge can otherwise hide a difference in engine, transmission or specification between the vehicles being discussed.
Skoda's model page also highlights rear-seat massage, a digital cockpit and wireless smartphone connectivity. Those broad highlights are reasons to inspect the detailed equipment sheet, rather than assume that every item shown on the landing page comes with every car. Ask the salesperson to identify the corresponding entry for the exact version.
Look beyond the glass during the demonstration
The updated Kushaq's front design includes a revised grille and lighting, while the rear gets connected lamps and illuminated Skoda lettering. These visual changes can make a display vehicle look substantially different from an older Kushaq. Check the model and equipment documentation alongside the car, rather than relying on a recognisable name alone.
For a family evaluating cabin comfort, give the ordinary controls as much attention as the roof. Try the seating position, find the air-conditioning controls and check whether the screen is easy to reach. This is an assessment exercise, not a claim that a particular roof arrangement produces a better ride or a cooler cabin.
Separate a showroom impression from the way the car will be used. Someone who enjoys an airy cabin may value the larger glass area. Another household may keep the shade closed for much of its driving. Both should inspect the arrangement with their own seating and usage preferences in mind.
Who it is for
This guide is for Kushaq shoppers deciding whether to move from an electric sunroof to the panoramic arrangement, particularly those comparing Sportline with Prestige or Monte Carlo. It is an equipment comparison, with no assumption that the larger roof justifies the rest of a trim change for every household.
For the engine and gearbox discussion, our Kushaq Sportline report covers a specific version. The Kylaq price guide and Kodiaq variant comparison offer separate reference points elsewhere in Skoda's SUV range.
