NEW DELHI: The cheapest automatic car Maruti Suzuki sells is the S-Presso VXi (O) AGS at Rs 4,77,400 ex-showroom Delhi, according to the active-variant price lists on Maruti's Arena and Nexa websites. Four Maruti models have a two-pedal version under Rs 7 lakh, and 15 models offer one in all. Price as of 25 October 2026, 12:30 AM IST.

Maruti uses four kinds of automatic. Small cars and the Baleno, Swift, Dzire and lower Fronx versions get the AGS, Maruti's name for an automated manual. The 998 cc Fronx versions, Brezza, Ertiga, XL6, Grand Vitara and Victoris use a six-speed automatic, listed as 6AT. The Jimny keeps a four-speed automatic, and the strong hybrids use an e-CVT.

What an automatic costs over the manual

On cars with the AGS, the extra charge is small and consistent. The S-Presso VXi (O) AGS costs Rs 45,000 more than the VXi (O) manual, and the WagonR VXi AGS and Swift VXi AMT carry the same Rs 45,000 premium over their manual twins. The Baleno Delta AGS costs Rs 50,000 more than the Delta manual.

The six-speed automatics ask for much more. The Brezza VXI AT is Rs 1,30,000 dearer than the VXI manual, the Ertiga VXi AT is Rs 1,35,000 over the VXi manual, and the Grand Vitara Delta AT costs Rs 1,35,000 more than the Delta manual. On the Jimny the gap between Zeta PRO manual and automatic is Rs 1,06,000.

That gap is why the Fronx has two entry automatics. The Delta AGS with the 1.2-litre engine costs Rs 8,24,900, while the cheapest six-speed automatic, the Zeta AT with the 998 cc engine, costs Rs 11,03,900.

Hybrid and CNG automatics

The strong hybrids are the most efficient automatics Maruti sells, at a price. The Victoris VXI strong hybrid starts at Rs 16,42,900 and the Grand Vitara Delta+ hybrid at Rs 16,68,300, both claiming 28.65 km/l and 27.97 km/l respectively. The Invicto, a hybrid only, starts at Rs 25,02,400.

For buyers who want CNG without a clutch pedal, the Swift VXi CNG AGS at Rs 7,92,400 is the cheapest option, ahead of the Baleno Delta CNG + AGS and the Dzire VXi CNG AGS. These are the only three CNG automatics in the current lists.

Which automatic suits which buyer

For city commutes on a budget, the AGS cars keep the premium near Rs 45,000 and claim better efficiency than their manuals. The Celerio VXi AGS, for instance, claims 26.00 km/l against 24.97 km/l for the VXi manual. Our Celerio version-wise prices has the full line-up.

If you would rather have a conventional six-speed automatic than an AGS, the cheapest in Maruti's range is the Brezza VXI AT at Rs 10,60,900, with the Fronx Zeta AT next at Rs 11,03,900. Our all 13 Brezza versions and the Swift price list show where each automatic sits in its range.

All prices are ex-showroom Delhi and exclude registration, road tax and insurance. Dual-tone paint adds to the price on several of these models.
