NEW DELHI: Hyundai launched the Bayon in India on 26 October 2026 at a starting price of Rs 9,99,900 ex-showroom. All seven trims use a 1.5-litre MPi petrol engine, with a six-speed manual available throughout and an iVT automatic offered from HX5 upward. The headline price is the entry point, not the price of the automatic or the fully equipped HX10.

Price as of 26 October 2026, 23:34 IST. Hyundai's launch release and live model-price page agree on the starting amount. Neither readable page supplied a complete price for each engine-transmission-trim combination during this check, so a full price range cannot be stated from those sources.

One engine, a clear automatic entry point

The petrol engine supplies 115 PS and 143.8 Nm, according to Hyundai's performance release. The manual gearbox provides a conventional route through the range, while the iVT varies its transmission ratio. Hyundai also describes paddle shifters and Eco, Normal and Sport drive settings for the automatic configuration.

Its iVT package includes features called Dash Boost Mode and Sporty Drive Tech, which Hyundai says change responsiveness and the acceleration experience. The company has not attached a separate additional power figure to those descriptions in the material reviewed. They are therefore presented here as manufacturer-described operating features, rather than a higher-output engine option.

How the trim ladder is arranged

The official variant guide separates the equipment steps more clearly than the broad launch presentation. The table below lists all seven trim names and their transmission availability. It is an equipment guide, not a substitute for missing individual prices.

TrimGearbox availabilitySelected equipment distinction
HX2ManualRear AC vents, LED projector headlamps
HX3ManualTouchscreen, reversing camera, smart key
HX3+ManualElectric sunroof, roof rails
HX5Manual or iVTAutomatic climate control, Bluelink
HX6Manual or iVTPanoramic sunroof, alloy wheels
HX8Manual or iVTSurround-view monitor, ventilated front seats
HX10Manual or iVTFull Level 2 Pro ADAS, generative AI voice assistant

This structure separates the automatic option from the top technology package. An iVT badge does not by itself identify an HX10, and the full driver-assistance suite should not be assumed to accompany every automatic Bayon. That distinction matters when the launch's headline equipment is shown beside the base price.

Safety claims need their qualifications

Hyundai lists six airbags, electronic stability control, hill-start assist and highline tyre-pressure monitoring among the standard protection. At the upper end, its SmartSense Level 2 Pro suite has 23 assistance functions. The safety page describes support from three radars and 12 parking sensors for the advanced system.

The same page says the structure is engineered for five-star Indian safety standards, with a footnote identifying an internal assessment. That is a manufacturer engineering claim. It should not be turned into a statement that an independent crash-test organisation has awarded the Bayon a five-star rating.

Space and connected equipment

Hyundai specifies a length of 4,245 mm, width of 1,810 mm and height of 1,605 mm with roof rails. The 505-litre boot claim carries a measurement condition involving a tyre mobility kit. Keeping that qualification alongside the number avoids presenting the luggage figure as identical across every spare-wheel arrangement.

On higher equipment grades, the cabin combines curved displays, a Bose audio system, wireless smartphone integration and a generative AI voice assistant. Hyundai identifies Perplexity for the assistant's intelligence and SoundHound AI for voice technology. The convenience page also lists controller software updates delivered over the air, alongside powered driver-seat adjustment and front-seat ventilation.

The new launch follows our earlier report on Bayon bookings and Hyundai's September sales. Readers placing the model within Hyundai's SUV range can also refer to the existing Venue price guide and Creta price list.
