NEW DELHI: The Hyundai Venue is listed from Rs 7,99,900 ex-showroom on Hyundai India's official website, with petrol, turbo petrol and diesel engines across the HX 2 to HX 10 variants. Price as of 10 October 2026, 1:00 PM IST. Hyundai marks this as a starting price, and the final figure depends on variant, engine and city.

With the Diwali buying window open ahead of 8 November, compact SUVs under Rs 10 lakh are drawing a lot of showroom traffic. Here is what Hyundai says about each Venue engine and the trims that go with it, using only the details published on its own pages.

Venue engines and where they fit

The base petrol is the 1.2 litre Kappa MPi. Hyundai lists 83 PS of power and 114.7 Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. It is offered in the HX 2 and HX 4 variants and is the engine behind the Rs 7,99,900 starting price.

The 1.0 litre Kappa Turbo GDi petrol makes 120 PS and 172 Nm. It comes with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT automatic, and Hyundai lists it for the HX 5, HX 5+, HX 6T and HX 8 variants. These are the trims that bring a smart electric sunroof, cruise control and drive modes, with paddle shifters on selected variants.

The diesel is the 1.5 litre U2 CRDi, rated at 116 PS and 250 Nm. It is paired with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic and appears in the HX 6, HX 7 and HX 10 variants. Hyundai pitches it at buyers who cover more highway distance.

Features and safety

Hyundai says the Venue's trims include projector headlamps, a large touchscreen infotainment system and a digital cluster, with six airbags as standard across the range. Higher trims add connected-car technology, a premium audio system and advanced driver assistance features.

Standard airbags matter at this price. A buyer comparing the HX 2 at the entry price with a turbo variant is mostly choosing between engines and convenience features, not between safe and unsafe cars, since Hyundai lists six airbags across the lineup.

How to choose between the three engines

The simplest rule is by use. If most of your driving is in the city, the 1.2 litre petrol manual matches the entry price and keeps things simple. If you want an automatic without moving to diesel, the turbo petrol with the 7-speed DCT is the one Hyundai pairs with the sunroof and drive modes.

If you regularly cover long highway distances, the diesel offers the highest torque of the three at 250 Nm, according to Hyundai. It also has a 6-speed automatic option for those who prefer one. Take a test drive in the exact engine and trim, because the numbers on paper do not tell you how a car feels in your traffic.

What the starting price does not include

The Rs 7,99,900 figure is ex-showroom. Registration, insurance, tax collected at source, accessories and any extended warranty are extra, so the on-road price in your city will be higher. Hyundai's page says the on-road price varies by state because of registration charges, insurance and taxes.

Hyundai also notes that prices and variants may change without prior notice and asks buyers to confirm the latest numbers with the nearest dealer before booking. If you plan to buy before Diwali, ask for the exact variant price in writing and check the delivery date for the colour you want.
