NEW DELHI: Hyundai Aura's basic warranty lasts three years or 1,00,000 km from first delivery, whichever comes first. To seek a repair, take the car to an authorised Hyundai workshop with its service records and applicable manual. Coverage depends on the diagnosed defect and the warranty conditions, not simply the car's age.
| Aura warranty question | Official position |

| Eligible defect | Material or workmanship defect acknowledged by Hyundai |
| Accepted warranty repair | Covered part and labour at no cost |
| Where to present the car | Authorised Hyundai dealer or workshop |
| Extended cover | Separate certificate, conditions and distance limit |
Check the delivery record and odometer together
Find the original delivery date before calculating whether cover remains. Then note the current odometer reading. A car that has crossed the mileage ceiling cannot rely on its remaining calendar time under the basic policy. Equally, low mileage does not extend the stated time limit.
This is a useful distinction for the Aura because its ownership choices include petrol and factory bi-fuel versions. Hyundai's brochure lists a 1,197 cc engine, with petrol offering 83 PS and 113.8 Nm, while the CNG specification is 69 PS and 95.2 Nm. Petrol has a five-speed manual or AMT; the brochure lists the bi-fuel version with a five-speed manual.
Those differences belong on the job card. A complaint that occurs while operating on CNG needs a clearer description than an entry saying only that the engine feels weak. Tell the adviser which fuel was selected and when the symptom appeared. Do not treat the different published power outputs as evidence of a fault by themselves.
Prepare a record the technician can use
Hyundai's Aura manual places responsibility on owners to retain maintenance evidence and follow the service booklet. It also calls for more frequent maintenance where the specified severe conditions apply. Assemble the service invoices in date order and keep the booklet available. The workshop can then compare the history with the schedule applicable to that vehicle.
For your own complaint note, record the circumstances rather than a diagnosis. Describe whether a sound appears during starting, braking or turning, and whether a warning stays illuminated. Bring any earlier job card for the same symptom. This is practical preparation, not a promise that Hyundai will accept a particular claim or replace the part you suspect.
The current manual also describes access through the vehicle's owner-manual QR code and recommends retaining a digital copy in myHyundai. Hyundai's public manual selector distinguishes model-year editions. Download the edition matching your Aura so that instructions for another production period do not become the basis of an argument about your own car.
Distinguish a defect from routine upkeep
The basic policy excludes normal wear replacements and damage arising from causes such as neglected maintenance, unsuitable fuel or fluids, modifications and flooding. Batteries and tyres have their respective manufacturer warranty arrangements. Ask the workshop to identify the failed component and explain the applicable cover before authorising a chargeable repair.
Keep a written copy of the diagnosis and the estimate. If the workshop considers a complaint outside warranty, ask for the reason and the relevant condition in writing. That gives you something specific to review against your documents. It also helps avoid a conversation in which a maintenance recommendation is mistaken for the decision on a separate defect.
Read an extension as a separate contract
Hyundai's extended-warranty page says an extension continues from expiry of the original cover and must be purchased while eligible basic or extended cover remains active. It can follow the vehicle to a subsequent owner for the remaining period, but cannot move to another car. The page also states that the premium has no refund or surrender value.
The terms document linked from that page is marked revised on 26 October 2026. It identifies the registration form and certificate as the contractual basis and lists Aura among applicable models. Its options combine years with distance ceilings. A year mentioned in an advertisement therefore needs to be read alongside the actual certificate's mileage limit and exclusions.
For an Aura used intensively, that certificate deserves attention before the basic cover runs out. Ask for the option name, covered period and odometer ceiling together. Keep them with the car's records, including after an ownership change. A verbal description such as comprehensive does not tell you which limit will expire first.
