NEW DELHI: Maruti Suzuki's listed service campaign for 676 Ertiga and XL6 vehicles concerns a possible front-driveshaft issue that can produce an unusual noise while turning. It covers vehicles manufactured from 24 June 2022 to 7 July 2022. The company describes it as a comfort-related service campaign, expressly says there is no safety concern, and offers inspection and replacement where needed without charge.

Why the wording matters

This is an explanation of an existing notice rechecked on 2 November 2026. The public page does not announce a new expansion of the affected population. It also does not provide a model-by-model split, so the combined total must not be presented as the number of Ertigas alone or the number of XL6s alone.

The manufacturer's distinction between inconvenience and a safety defect is central to this particular notice. It says the possible noise does not affect functioning. An article that relabelled the driveshaft campaign as a safety recall would change the meaning of the company's statement and could send owners looking for the wrong workshop action.

That qualification is limited to the issue described. It is not a diagnosis of every noise an Ertiga or XL6 might make. When reporting a concern, describe the sound and the circumstances to the workshop, while asking separately whether the chassis is included in this campaign.

The build window sits within a specific model era

The Ertiga's April 2022 launch material introduced a refreshed car with a K-series 1.5-litre Dual Jet, Dual VVT petrol engine and Smart Hybrid technology. It paired a five-speed manual option with a six-speed automatic featuring paddle shifters. The service-campaign manufacturing dates fall after that launch, giving owners a more useful reference point than the model name alone.

The same launch document described a sliding and reclining second row, a split-folding third row and roof-mounted rear air conditioning. For a family using those seats regularly, a turning noise may first become a workshop concern during a parking manoeuvre or a local trip. Recording when it happens is more helpful than attempting to identify a component from the sound alone.

XL6's official product page also describes a 1.5-litre Dual Jet, Dual VVT petrol engine with five-speed manual and six-speed automatic choices. That shared broad powertrain description does not establish which individual cars are affected. The campaign's chassis check remains necessary even where the engine and gearbox appear to match.

Prepare a useful inspection request

Before arranging a visit, collect the chassis identifier and any earlier inspection paperwork. Ask specifically about the front-driveshaft campaign. If the car has already attended for a similar noise, request confirmation of whether that visit completed this campaign or investigated a different concern.

The inspection-first wording matters. Replacement is conditional, so an affected car's workshop visit does not automatically mean a part will be changed. Ask for the inspection result and any work performed to be recorded on the job card. Retain the closing document alongside the vehicle's other service papers.

Maruti says authorised workshops will communicate with affected owners. The notice also provides a vehicle-check option. A public article cannot confirm whether a particular car has already received attention, and this reporting did not submit an owner's identifier or access any private service history.

Separate the campaign from routine maintenance

The notice provides no labour-time estimate or guaranteed parts-arrival date. Those details should be clarified when planning the appointment, especially if the vehicle is needed for a family journey. Optional servicing and unrelated repairs should be separately identified rather than assumed to be included in this campaign.

For other model information, our XL6 gearbox guide explains the transmission choices, the Ertiga cabin guide covers current convenience features, and the Ertiga and XL6 price report concerns showroom versions. Those subjects are distinct from historical campaign eligibility.
