NEW DELHI: BYD's current India price listing puts the SEAL Dynamic at Rs 41,50,000, Premium at Rs 46,20,000 and Performance at Rs 53,65,000, ex-showroom. Premium has the longest advertised range in the three-variant electric sedan family, even though Performance is the most expensive version.

The longest-range SEAL is in the middle

Price as of 28 October 2026, 15:41 IST. The table includes every SEAL variant in BYD's national electric-car price listing. Its separate model price page confirms the starting figure, but does not turn that amount into an on-road bill. Insurance, registration and a transaction-specific quotation still need to be read separately.

The upper pair share a published battery capacity, while their range claims differ. That is the defining distinction in this price table: the largest price tag and the longest claimed distance belong to different rows. The Performance name should not be used as shorthand for the version that goes furthest between charges.

Dynamic, meanwhile, has a smaller battery than either of those versions. Reading it simply as the same car with fewer conveniences misses that specification change. For a household comparing ownership plans, battery size and the usable charging arrangement deserve their own line of discussion alongside upholstery, displays and other cabin equipment.

A sedan with storage at both ends

BYD's India product page describes a four-door electric sedan with a 400-litre rear luggage compartment and a separate 53-litre covered storage space at the front. Those are two differently shaped spaces. Adding their volumes together would not tell a family whether a particular suitcase or folded pushchair will fit.

That distinction is particularly useful for the SEAL because its appeal is tied to a sedan body rather than a tall utility-car shape. The front compartment could help organise smaller items separately from the main luggage area. A practical luggage check should still use the actual bags carried by the household, rather than relying entirely on a capacity figure.

The same page identifies lithium iron phosphate chemistry for the Blade Battery and explains that the battery is integrated into the structure through Cell to Body technology. This makes the pack part of the vehicle's architecture. It does not, by itself, establish a replacement price, an insurance settlement value or a guarantee about any particular incident.

Keep the specification sheet separate from the name

The price ladder raises a useful question for a sedan shopper: which specification is the extra money buying? Premium and Performance do not differ in the battery capacity shown here. Their different range labels demonstrate why an expensive trim cannot automatically be treated as an improvement in every measurable category.

The numbers in this table are manufacturer-published claims. They should not be converted into a guaranteed itinerary or used to promise a fixed distance with a full passenger load. For an outstation journey, the useful comparison is between the stated specification and the charging stops that are actually available along the intended route.

There is also a paperwork point specific to this line-up. BYD uses Dynamic, Premium and Performance across a range whose middle version leads on advertised distance. A quotation that says only SEAL is therefore incomplete for comparing the battery specification. The full variant name needs to follow the car through the order and insurance documents.

BYD lists a Type 2 AC charging port rated at 7 kW for Dynamic, Premium and Performance on its India product page. That common charging specification is another reason to read the trim names alongside the actual hardware. It describes an AC connection and should not be confused with a DC fast-charging claim or treated as a guarantee about the electricity supply at a particular parking space.

For the SEAL, the contrast is clear: the upper variants share a battery capacity, all carry the same published AC-port rating, and the middle variant leads the range table. Each column answers a different question.
