NEW DELHI: TVS lists the XL100 from Rs 48,250 for Heavy Duty to Rs 61,860 for HD Alloy on its official price page. The five entries cover a basic utility moped, versions with i-Touchstart and a Comfort alternative. These are ex-showroom figures, with accessories excluded. The page leaves its location selectors unselected, so this is the displayed website list, rather than a verified quotation for every Indian city.

A moped with a different job
The Heavy Duty specification page lists a 99.7cc single-cylinder engine, 3.20 kW at 6,000 rpm and 6.5 Nm at 3,500 rpm. Its centrifugal wet clutch, single-speed gearbox and roller-chain final drive describe the working hardware more usefully than the model's familiar silhouette does.
For a rider moving between a shop, a supplier and nearby customers, the useful question is how the machine accommodates the day's work. The XL100's detachable rear seat and open floorboard put that question at the centre of its design. That is a different brief from choosing a scooter around a dashboard or enclosed storage compartment.
TVS specifies an 88kg kerb weight and 150kg payload for the Heavy Duty model. Treat the payload as a vehicle limit to check against the owner's instructions, not an invitation to stack parcels wherever they fit. Rider weight, luggage placement and secure attachment all deserve attention before turning a convenient open platform into a delivery vehicle.
Read the variant names carefully
The base Heavy Duty and Heavy Duty i-Touchstart have separate rows in the price list. That distinction matters for someone who stops repeatedly through the day: the starting arrangement is something to demonstrate on the actual vehicle, rather than assume from a photograph showing a different version.
Win Edition, Comfort i-Touchstart and HD Alloy are also separate entries. TVS's comparison page distinguishes the long single-seat arrangement from the detachable rear-seat layout. A household carrying a regular pillion should inspect the seating arrangement as carefully as a business user checks usable carrying space.
The comparison also lists comfort and heavy-duty suspension features separately. Its graphical feature markers do not turn every item into common equipment. Ask for the chosen variant's specification sheet, particularly when comparing the Comfort model with a Heavy Duty derivative, and make sure the invoice uses the same full variant name.
Who it is for
The base XL100 deserves consideration from someone whose priority is a compact working moped and who is comfortable with its starting setup. The i-Touchstart versions address a different convenience requirement. Comfort is the version to inspect when passenger seating takes precedence over rearranging the rear of the vehicle.
For a shared household vehicle, try the stand, seat and handlebar reach with the people who will actually ride it. A short demonstration can expose a practical mismatch that an engine figure cannot. For a work vehicle, bring a representative empty bag or parcel container and check where it could be secured without affecting the controls.
There is another practical distinction to settle at the showroom: whether the displayed moped has the same wheels, starting controls and seating as the priced version. A demonstration vehicle is useful for understanding the layout, but the variant on the written quotation is the one whose equipment needs checking.
