Same surname, different dimensions

The Xoom 110 uses a 110.9cc fuel-injected engine, rated at 6.0 kW at 7,250 rpm and 8.70 Nm at 5,750 rpm. Hero lists a 770mm seat height, 1,881mm overall length and 1,300mm wheelbase. Its product page highlights 12-inch wheels.

The Xoom 125 uses a 124.6cc engine with 7.3 kW at 7,250 rpm and 10.4 Nm at 6,000 rpm. Its wheel size rises to 14 inches, with a 120mm-wide rear tyre. Hero gives a 777mm seat height, 1,978mm length and 1,327mm wheelbase.

That creates a useful distinction for a crowded home parking space. The bigger Xoom is a physically longer vehicle, not simply the smaller scooter with a different engine badge. Marking out the available space and trying the turning manoeuvre is more informative than assuming that both will tuck into the same gap.

Compare equivalent equipment

Within the Xoom 110 range, Hero's comparison gives the ZX and Combat a front disc brake, Bluetooth connectivity, corner-bending lights and diamond-cut alloy wheels. The VX does without those listed features. Someone drawn to the corner lights therefore needs to identify the variant before using the entry price in a budget.

The Xoom 125 page specifically identifies the front disc brake with the ZX variant. It also highlights a projector LED headlamp, illuminated start switch and sequential LED indicators. Those details give the larger scooter its own character, but the written quotation should still name the precise version whose equipment has been demonstrated.

It is particularly easy to compare a richly equipped smaller model with the least expensive larger one and overlook the trade-off. Put the chosen variants side by side, then inspect the brake hardware and controls. Engine capacity alone does not tell a reader which convenience features will be included.

Who the Xoom 110 is for

The smaller Xoom suits the reader seeking the lower listed entry price and the more compact footprint. The ZX and Combat are the versions to examine if the corner-light and connectivity package is part of the appeal. The base VX needs its own assessment rather than borrowing those features from the range's advertising.

For a rider who regularly squeezes through a narrow gate or shares parking with another vehicle, the smaller dimensions deserve practical attention. Try the usual parking movement with the engine off. A scooter that is easy to manoeuvre in that setting may be more useful than one whose brochure specification looks more ambitious.

Who the Xoom 125 is for

The Xoom 125 suits someone specifically seeking its larger wheels and higher listed output while retaining an automatic scooter format. That is a tangible change in the machine's specification. It is still sensible to check steering clearance, foot placement and passenger access before deciding that its larger stance suits the household.

A test ride should include the sort of slow turns and stop-start movement that dominate the intended commute. Neither wheel diameter nor a peak output figure proves how confidently a particular rider will manage those situations. Helmet fit in storage and the passenger's seating position are also personal checks that a comparison table cannot complete.
