NEW DELHI: Hero MotoCorp's official Delhi page lists the Destini 125 VX at Rs 80,138, ZX at Rs 89,497 and ZX+ at Rs 90,019. The range therefore runs from Rs 80,138 to Rs 90,019 ex-showroom Delhi. The main equipment decision is between the drum-brake VX and the disc-brake ZX versions; the ZX+ also brings a different decorative finish.

What the badge does and does not change
The shared specification is a 124.6cc air-cooled engine with fuel injection. Hero lists 9 bhp at 7,000 rpm and 10.4 Nm at 5,500 rpm. The specification sheet gives a 770mm seat height, 162mm ground clearance and a 5.3-litre fuel tank. Moving to the ZX+ should therefore be understood through its equipment and finish rather than an assumption of a bigger engine.
Hero's comparison assigns auto-cancelling indicators, turn-by-turn navigation, an illuminated start switch and diamond-cut alloy wheels to ZX and ZX+. The VX lacks those items in that comparison. This is why a photograph of a heavily equipped Destini should not be treated as a specification sheet for the entry model.
The ZX+ changes the accents to copper chrome, while the ZX uses chrome. Both sit on the disc-brake side of the range. If the main purpose of moving up is to obtain the listed convenience equipment, inspect the ZX first and then decide whether the ZX+ finish has value for the intended rider.
The family-use question
The Destini's appeal is tied to its passenger accommodation as much as its engine. Hero highlights the longer seat, legroom and metal body in its model material. For a household sharing a scooter, those are useful prompts for a physical check: have the regular pillion sit on it while the rider checks whether both can settle into a natural position.
A seat-height number cannot settle that question on its own. Seat width, footwear and the rider's leg reach affect how manageable a scooter feels when stopping. A prospective owner should try moving it backwards out of a parking space as well as sitting on it in a showroom.
The same applies to the boot. Bring the helmet normally used on the commute and check its fit without forcing the seat shut. Space that works for a soft shopping bag may not accommodate the particular shape of a helmet, and a general claim about generous storage cannot answer that personal fit question.
Who each version is for
The VX fits the reader who wants the Destini's basic family-scooter layout and can do without the upper variants' navigation and illuminated switch. Its braking hardware should be assessed on its own terms during a demonstration, rather than assumed to match the more expensive model parked beside it.
The ZX is the version for someone specifically seeking the front disc and the listed connected convenience features. The ZX+ suits that same equipment requirement with a preference for the copper-chrome treatment. Neither decorative preference nor a longer feature list establishes how comfortable the scooter will be on a particular commute.
Compare the quotation, then the scooter
Keep the variant name alongside every amount when comparing written estimates. Accessories and insurance choices can obscure the difference between the base vehicle prices. For finance paperwork, our two-wheeler loan guide explains the questions to take into that discussion.
For alternative family-scooter layouts, see the Suzuki Access price story and TVS Jupiter guide. Use those as separate model references, then compare the precise versions and current written quotations that interest you.
