NEW DELHI: Denza, the luxury electric brand of the BYD Group, has told Indian buyers it is on its way. Denza India's official LinkedIn page posted a short announcement headed "DENZA is coming!" on Thursday, 1 October 2026, the first public word from the brand's Indian arm.

The post carries no launch date, no price, no model names and no showroom locations. It also does not say whether cars will be imported or assembled in India. As of 3 October, none of those details appears on the Denza India post or on any other official BYD or Denza page for India that we could find.

What Denza India has said

The post describes Denza as a "tech-driven Ultra Luxury automotive brand from BYD Group" that "blends intelligent innovation with refined design". It says the brand, backed by what it calls the world's largest new-energy vehicle manufacturer, is "set to introduce a sophisticated, high-performance EV experience".

That is the whole substance. The account's own tagline is "Technology Drives Elegance", and the post closes with the hashtags #DENZA and #DENZAIndia.

Denza India appears to run separately from BYD India. It has its own LinkedIn, Facebook and YouTube pages, each describing itself as the official Denza India account.

Where it sits next to BYD India

BYD India's official website currently lists four electric models: the Sealion 7, eMAX 7, Atto 3 and Seal. Denza is not mentioned there. The BYD India news page, whose newest entry is dated 20 August 2026, carries no press release on the new brand.

Whether Denza cars will be sold from existing BYD dealerships or from separate outlets has not been stated. Nor has the company said how Denza will be priced against the current BYD range. Until it does, any rupee figure doing the rounds is unconfirmed.

What Denza sells elsewhere

Denza's European website lists four models: the Z9GT, D9, BAO 5 and Z. The company has not said which of these, if any, will come to India.

The Z9GT page on Denza's Australian website is marked "Arriving Soon" and quotes roughly 850 kW of power, 0 to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds, a 10 to 97 per cent charge in about nine minutes and 820 km of range on the CLTC test cycle. CLTC is a Chinese cycle, so that range is not an Indian certification figure.

The D9 is presented on the same site as a seven-seat electric people mover. The company lists ventilated and massage seats in the first two rows, a 775 W Dynaudio system with 14 speakers, and a built-in fridge and hotbox.

These are claims for the Australian market. Denza India has not published specifications for any Indian-market car, and the D9 shown above is a global model, not a confirmed India launch.

What is still missing

Four things decide whether Denza matters to Indian buyers: the models, the ex-showroom prices, the launch date and the dealer network. The company has given none of them yet.

Denza India has so far said only that the brand is coming. Buyers weighing a luxury electric car in India will need the company to publish a price sheet and a booking process before comparing it with anything else on sale.

Further details will have to come from the company's own channels or from BYD India.
