NEW DELHI: HMD 101 4G Dual Sim is listed at Rs 2,199 on HMD's India website, against Rs 2,599 for Nokia 106 4G. The cheaper phone brings USB-C charging and a larger display, while the Nokia has a bigger battery and more internal memory. These are keypad feature phones, with different priorities from an Android smartphone.

Price as of 31 October 2026, 00:16 IST. These are the displayed prices for the selected colour and memory listings, inclusive of taxes. The comparison does not assume that another colour has the same checkout price. It also concerns HMD 101 4G Dual Sim, rather than the separate HMD 101 without the 4G name.
Charging convenience versus battery capacity
The connector is an everyday distinction. HMD's USB-C port may make it easier to organise a household charging point around the cables already used by other devices. Nokia 106 4G retains Micro USB, so its cable needs to remain part of the household kit. Connector shape alone does not establish a faster charging rate.
The Nokia's larger battery is a clear hardware difference, but it does not establish a matching advantage in real calling time. Both specification pages give an up-to-eight-hour talk-time figure. That is a useful reminder to read the manufacturer's usage claim alongside capacity, rather than treating the mAh number as a direct measure of hours.
The screen and memory tradeoff
HMD 101 4G has the larger display, although both screens carry the QQVGA resolution label. A larger screen and a sharper screen are separate things. For someone who mainly reads contact names and short messages, trying the menus and checking text visibility would be more informative than choosing from the diagonal measurement alone.
Nokia 106 4G offers more RAM and internal storage, but these are still feature-phone specifications measured in MB. Its official page also describes bigger fonts, a zoomed interface and quick dial. Those are concrete usability features to examine when setting up a phone for a family member who struggles with small menu text.
Both support a microSD card up to 32GB. Their official pages say a card is required for the MP3 player and is sold separately. Internal storage and card capacity therefore should not be combined into a single advertised memory total. A music listener needs to consider the card and the task of loading songs, as well as the handset.
Online features have different descriptions
HMD promotes Cloud Apps on the 101 4G for news, cricket results and entertainment. Nokia 106 4G's page instead names the preloaded Opera Mini browser. Neither description should be read as a promise that a particular Android application can be installed. Anyone dependent on a specific service needs confirmation of that service on the exact handset.
Nokia's page also qualifies HD calling: availability depends on local operators, their services and HMD's support for the operator. That matters more than a generic claim of clear calls. A 4G label is useful information about the device, but it does not replace checking the intended connection and calling service.
Who each phone is for
The HMD model fits a brief centred on a lower listed price, USB-C and a larger keypad-phone screen. The Nokia fits a brief centred on its larger battery, greater internal memory and explicitly described text-accessibility options. This is a specification comparison, rather than a hands-on verdict about sound quality or reception.
