NEW DELHI: HMD 105 4G owners should check for a 5V/1A adapter output when following the company's charging guidance. Its user guide names the HAD-005 charger for countries outside the EU, recommends that output for a power adapter and advises against letting the battery fall below 20%. The phone itself has a 1,450mAh removable battery and USB Type-C connection.
| Charging check | Official information |
|---|---|
| Recommended adapter output | 5V/1A |
| Named charger outside EU countries | HAD-005 |
| Battery | 1,450mAh, removable |
| Connector | USB Type-C |
| Battery-use guidance | Avoid dropping below 20% |
Start with the adapter label
The relevant line is the adapter's output, rather than a claim on an accessory's outer packaging. Keep the charger supplied with this particular phone identifiable if several family devices share a charging shelf. A label showing the model and electrical output is more useful during a support discussion than describing it simply as a mobile charger.
HMD separates EU instructions from instructions for other countries. Indian readers should therefore use the outside-EU charger reference above. The guide also permits compliant third-party cables and adapters meeting its stated USB and safety requirements. It does not say that every adapter with a physically matching plug is an approved substitute.
Connect, wait and disconnect in the stated order
The published sequence is to plug the charger into a wall outlet and then connect it to the phone. When charging is complete, disconnect from the device first and the wall outlet afterwards. If the battery has discharged fully, HMD says the charging indicator may take several minutes to appear.
That delay matters when a backup phone is brought out after being left unused. An absent immediate indicator is not, by itself, a diagnosis of a failed charging socket. Record whether the indicator eventually appears and which charger was connected. Describing the observed behaviour is more useful than deciding from the first moment that the battery needs replacement.
The guide says USB charging is possible without a wall outlet but can take longer to begin. It gives no fixed full-charge duration for this procedure. A precise promise that the handset will refill in a particular number of minutes would therefore go beyond the instructions checked for this article.
The standby claim is not a maintenance interval
HMD's India overview advertises up to 15 days of standby. The technical specifications separately list up to 10 hours of talk time in laboratory conditions. These are different descriptions of battery use, rather than a timetable telling every owner to connect the charger after the same number of days.
For a household using the HMD 105 4G as a spare calling phone, the useful routine is to check its charge before it is needed. A standby headline cannot tell the owner how much charge remains after the phone's own mixture of calls and other activity. The displayed battery state is the immediate information available on the device.
This model also offers Bluetooth 5.0, wired and wireless FM radio, and an MP3 player that requires a separately sold microSD card. Its technical page specifies 64MB RAM, 128MB internal storage and card support up to 32GB. These details explain why a handset kept for calls may also be used for listening between charges.
HMD's separate battery-life guide suggests switching Bluetooth on only when needed. It also explains that airplane mode disconnects the mobile network. For a spare phone kept to receive family calls, that setting would prevent the incoming calls the owner is waiting for.
Keep the model and the problem separate
HMD lists the selected Black phone at Rs 2,599. Price as of 29 October 2026, 10:27 IST. That identifies the budget device covered here; this article does not cover every phone carrying the 105 name. Our HMD 105 replacement preparation guide addresses a separate warranty question.
For other setup issues, our Nokia 150 card guide and HMD 101 and HMD 100 comparison cover different feature phones. Keep their accessory requirements separate from this model's instructions.
