NEW DELHI: Nissan Tekton starts at Rs 10,49,000, while Nissan Magnite starts lower at Rs 5,69,400, according to Nissan India's official ex-showroom price page. The Rs 4,79,600 entry-price difference separates two quite different routes into Nissan ownership. It also understates the importance of choosing a transmission before comparing the bills.

Price as of 28 October 2026, 15:51 IST. These are published ex-showroom figures, with registration, insurance and other applicable charges separate.

The automatic comparison needs a second line

On entry automatic prices, the gap grows to Rs 8,69,000. That calculation is accurate but combines Magnite's automated manual gearbox with Tekton's dual-clutch automatic. It measures the cost of avoiding a clutch pedal, rather than the cost of equivalent transmission hardware.

Magnite also offers a turbo-petrol CVT. Using its Rs 9,30,000 Acenta price against Tekton's Rs 14,99,000 Acenta DCT narrows the automatic gap to Rs 5,69,000. The shared Acenta badge does not establish equal equipment across the models. It is a trim name within each range.

At the other end, Magnite Tekna+ Turbo CVT at Rs 10,99,000 sits Rs 50,000 above the entry Tekton manual. This is the meaningful overlap in the showroom: a higher-specification compact automatic and a lower-grade larger SUV can occupy nearby price territory, despite the very different starting figures.

Different engines explain part of the spread

Nissan's Magnite brochure lists a naturally aspirated 1.0-litre petrol engine producing 72 PS and 96 Nm for the manual and EZ-Shift versions. The turbo manual produces 100 PS and 160 Nm; the turbo CVT retains 100 PS but lists 152 Nm. Those distinctions matter more than treating every Magnite as the same mechanical package.

Tekton's official product page lists 100 PS and 166 Nm for the T160 manual. Its T280 develops 163 PS and 280 Nm, with manual and wet-clutch DCT options. The base Tekton already belongs to the turbocharged range, whereas Magnite's lowest advertised price belongs to the naturally aspirated engine.

The transmission choice therefore changes the engine comparison too. Moving from Magnite EZ-Shift to Tekton DCT is a change in both gearbox type and output. The rupee difference cannot reasonably be described as an automatic-gearbox premium alone.

Compact dimensions versus a broader feature brief

Magnite measures 3,994 mm long, with a 2,500 mm wheelbase and 205 mm ground clearance in its official brochure. That compact footprint gives this comparison a particular Indian context: the smaller Nissan's dimensions remain relevant in a tight apartment parking bay even when its top automatic approaches Tekton's entry price.

Tekton's product presentation puts more emphasis on a digital cockpit, Google built-in, ventilated seating and a panoramic sunroof, with availability dependent on version. Those model-wide highlights should not be attached automatically to the entry Visia. The published starting price describes access to the range, not every item in the promotional photographs.

This leaves two separate questions for a price comparison: how much the lowest version costs, and what engine, gearbox and equipment a particular amount actually buys. Here, Nissan's own price ladder shows why neither question can replace the other.

For the individual ladders, see our Tekton price list and Magnite price coverage. The separate Gravite price list adds the people-carrier option to the same brand context. This comparison uses the official figures above and does not include temporary benefits or exchange incentives.

There is another trap in reading the ladder: the highest regular Magnite manual price is not the ceiling for the whole car. Turbo engines and automatic transmissions have their own rows. A range comparison that stops at the naturally aspirated manual would omit the versions that overlap most closely with entry Tekton pricing, which is precisely where this comparison becomes interesting.
