NEW DELHI: BYD eMAX 7 Comfort starts at Rs 27,90,000 for the six-seater, below the six-seat Superior's Rs 29,30,000 ex-showroom price. Both trims also have seven-seat versions. The current official comparison lists a 71.8 kWh battery against every configuration, making seating and trim separate choices.

Compare the same seating capacity first

Price as of 28 October 2026, 15:45 IST. These are the four eMAX 7 configurations named in BYD's national electric-car price table. The model-specific price page corroborates the starting amount. The figures describe the published ex-showroom line-up, rather than a personalised on-road quotation or a finance instalment.

A comparison between the cheapest Comfort and the most expensive Superior changes the seating capacity as well as the trim. Keeping the seat count fixed makes the trim comparison easier to understand. Conversely, keeping the trim fixed isolates the price attached to the seating choice in the current list.

This distinction matters more for the eMAX 7 than for a car sold with a fixed passenger capacity. A household cannot decide whether the lower figure meets its needs until it has established how many people the car must carry. The cheapest row is useful as an entry point, but the corresponding seating configuration is part of that price.

The range labels use different test cycles

BYD attaches MIDC to Comfort's advertised distance and NEDC to Superior's. Those labels need to remain visible beside the numbers. The current page does not present them as results from an identical test, so the two distances should not be used to calculate a like-for-like efficiency advantage between the trims.

The shared battery capacity makes that qualification particularly important. A reader looking only at the distance could assume that Superior contains more battery energy. The capacity column does not support that assumption. The useful conclusion is narrower: the official table assigns the same pack size to both trims and gives their range claims different cycle labels.

Nor does the seating change alter the published range within a trim in this table. That is how the manufacturer groups the figures, rather than proof that carrying another passenger has no effect on a real journey. Passenger load, luggage and the conditions of a particular trip remain separate from a catalogue comparison.

What the extra seat does and does not establish

The official listing identifies the eMAX 7 as an electric MPV, with a choice of passenger capacities across both trims. For a family whose usual trips include relatives, the seating specification is a functional part of the vehicle description. It should appear on the order document alongside Comfort or Superior.

Seat count alone does not describe the experience of using every position. Rear-seat access, space for the passengers who will sit there and luggage carried with everybody aboard are distinct checks. The price table settles the available configurations; it does not turn those practical questions into interchangeable answers.

The four rows also help prevent a misleading comparison with a five-seat electric SUV. Such a vehicle may fit the same broad budget discussion while solving a different passenger-capacity problem. The eMAX 7's particular role is the combination of an electric powertrain and the choice between these family seating configurations.

BYD's eMAX 7 price page also displays Quartz Blue, Cosmos Black, Crystal White and Harbour Grey. Those gallery labels help identify the model visually, but they do not specify a different variant price for each colour. This comparison therefore keeps its price rows tied to the combinations that the national table actually names: trim and seat count. A colour selection should not silently replace either of those identifiers in a quotation.

Keep the order and finance documents aligned

A complete quotation should identify the eMAX 7 trim and seating capacity together. Readers can use our BYD ATTO 3 price list: Rs 24,99,000 to Rs 34,49,000 for financing context.
