NEW DELHI: Lenovo Idea Tab Pro's 12GB RAM is soldered and cannot be upgraded, according to Lenovo's product specification reference. Its Indian store listing for ZAE40195IN pairs that memory with 256GB storage and an included Lenovo Tab Pen Plus at Rs 32,999. Adding a memory card expands file storage, rather than the tablet's working memory.

Separate memory from storage
Price as of 2 November 2026, 00:41 IST. This is a configuration explainer for the identified Indian listing, rather than a price list for the whole Idea Tab Pro range. Lenovo's reference document lists both 8GB and 12GB memory options globally; the Indian page checked here identifies the latter.
Working memory and file storage solve different problems. RAM is used while software is running. Storage holds the material that remains after an app closes, including downloaded documents and saved work. A larger card can make room for more files without changing the amount of RAM installed inside the tablet.
This distinction matters in a study routine built around lecture recordings, marked-up notes and reading material. Running out of space for those files is a different issue from how comfortably applications remain open together. Treating both problems as a single memory specification makes the configuration harder to understand.
What Lenovo fixes inside the tablet
The specification reference explicitly describes the RAM as non-upgradable. It also distinguishes its internal-storage options: the 128GB version uses UFS 3.1, while the 256GB option uses UFS 4.0. The checked ZAE40195IN listing names 256GB UFS 4.0. These are factory configuration differences, not a menu of upgrades an owner can perform later.
Nor does the storage standard alone establish how much faster a particular task will finish. Opening a document, exporting a large file and downloading material involve different limits. Lenovo's specification identifies the hardware; it does not supply a measured time saving for each classroom or office task.
For a shared family tablet, keeping a record of the exact model code is useful. A family name on the box does not explain the installed RAM, storage or bundled accessories by itself. The model code connects the hardware description to the particular listing and invoice, without relying on a general promotional page.
The pen belongs to the bundle
The Indian page states that Lenovo Tab Pen Plus is included. Its Easy Jot description covers marking up notes or video screenshots, while Circle to Search can be used with a finger or the pen. That makes the accessory relevant to handling material already on screen, rather than merely adding handwriting to a blank page.
Lenovo's global reference also allows configurations without a bundled pen. The Indian listing therefore matters: compatibility and inclusion are separate claims. A compatible accessory can still be an additional purchase in another package. The same care applies when looking at keyboard photographs, which should not be treated as proof that a keyboard comes in this box.
Connections do not add cellular service
The product reference lists USB-C with USB 5Gbps, charging and DisplayPort output, plus a microSD slot and a keyboard connector. It lists no WWAN support. A memory card changes local file capacity; it does not provide a mobile-data connection. Those are separate parts of the specification.
The reference also lists Wi-Fi 6E, subject to each country's regulatory requirements. A supported wireless standard should not be confused with a promise about the network in a hostel, classroom or home. The connection available at the location remains part of the practical setup.
