NEW DELHI: Lenovo Tab Plus combines eight JBL speakers with a stated 26W stereo output, and can receive audio from a phone in Bluetooth speaker mode. Its built-in kickstand makes that combination more useful on a table: the tablet can stay upright while its screen or a separate phone supplies the entertainment.

What the speaker arrangement changes

Lenovo divides the audio hardware between tweeters and force-balanced woofers. The distinction matters more than simply counting speaker openings: the design assigns different parts of the sound to different drivers. The company also specifies a combined speaker-box volume of 22cc. Those are descriptions of the hardware, rather than independent evidence of how a particular recording will sound.

For a shared room, this gives the Tab Plus an unusual role. A tablet normally provides a screen for the person holding it; here, the stand and speaker arrangement also make it a device that can sit between listeners. That is a practical difference for a household watching a lesson or following a recipe together, without needing to pass the display from hand to hand.

The 26W figure should be read as the company's stereo-output specification. It does not establish a listening distance, speech clarity in a noisy kitchen or a measured advantage over another tablet. None of those conclusions follows from a power figure alone. Placement, the recording and the room still belong in any assessment of the listening experience.

Bluetooth mode gives the phone a different job

In Lenovo's description, Bluetooth speaker mode lets a portable device such as a smartphone stream audio to the tablet. That changes the source of the sound without changing the Tab Plus speaker hardware. A family member can therefore keep using the phone as the playback source while the tablet supplies the sound.

This is distinct from playing music in an app installed on the tablet itself. Keeping that distinction clear helps explain the feature without suggesting that another device acquires the tablet's apps, storage or screen. Lenovo also describes app-specific volume controls, allowing different audio levels for music, video and game applications on the tablet.

That control is particularly relevant when a shared device changes jobs. The preferred level for a film need not be the preferred level for a browser. App-specific settings address that change in routine; they do not remove the need to check the volume before starting playback around other people.

A stand, a screen and charging limits

The kickstand opens through up to 175 degrees. Lenovo also describes a Standby Mode that can show a clock or photographs while the tablet is charging in landscape orientation with the stand. Its release notes that initial manual activation may be needed. This makes the stand part of the device's idle-time use, as well as its viewing setup.

The company quotes up to 12 hours of streaming and a full charge in 90 minutes. Both are laboratory-based battery claims, with actual results dependent on use and conditions. They should not become a promise that every video call, stream or charging session will last or finish in the same time.

Lenovo's Indian store listing for model ZADX0099IN identifies 8GB memory, 256GB UFS 2.2 storage and a 45W power supply. These details identify the particular configuration, rather than every possible Tab Plus bundle. This article explains its audio design and does not present a complete current variant price list.

Headphones have their own specification. Lenovo describes 24-bit, 96kHz high-resolution audio with headphones, and its product reference requires a wired connection through the 3.5mm audio jack for Hi-Res Audio quality. That condition belongs alongside the claim: the presence of Bluetooth speaker mode does not mean the same headphone specification applies to every wireless connection.

Keep the tablet names separate

Tab Plus should not be confused with Idea Tab Plus or Yoga Tab Plus.
