NEW DELHI: Hyundai lists the IONIQ 5 at Rs 55,70,600 ex-showroom in India. The configuration described on its current price and specification pages pairs an 84 kWh battery with rear-wheel drive. Hyundai quotes an ARAI-certified range of up to 690 km, while the final on-road bill depends on the location and applicable charges.
| Version shown on Hyundai India | Listed ex-showroom price | Battery | Drive |
|---|---|---|---|
| IONIQ 5 | Rs 55,70,600 | 84 kWh | Rear-wheel drive |
Price as of 25 October 2026, 23:00 IST. The official price page shows this amount across its city table and does not provide a separate ladder of named trims.
What the listed price covers
Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad carry the same ex-showroom figure in Hyundai's published table. That makes the national product price straightforward to read, but it does not make the delivered cost identical in each city. Hyundai separately identifies registration, road tax, insurance and other applicable costs as factors in the on-road total.
The live price page is the basis for the figure here. Hyundai's launch announcement dated 28 April 2026 had quoted Rs 55,70,000. The current price table instead displays Rs 55,70,600. Those amounts should not be silently substituted for each other, and neither establishes what a particular customer's eventual invoice will be.
Battery, motor and charging
The specification sheet identifies a permanent magnet synchronous motor producing 168 kW, also stated as 228.5 PS. Power reaches the rear wheels through a single-speed reduction gear. The battery uses liquid cooling and includes a heating system, details that help identify the current car when checking older IONIQ 5 specifications.
Hyundai's quickest charging claim is 18 minutes from 10 to 80 per cent, using a 350 kW DC charger. The company's separate AC figure is 7 hours and 35 minutes from 10 to 100 per cent with an 11 kW charger. These are different charging windows and different equipment conditions.
Neither timing is a promise for every charging stop. Hyundai lists the starting battery level, charger output, vehicle settings, battery and outside temperatures, and uninterrupted electricity supply among the variables. The 690 km figure is likewise a certified test result, rather than a distance this report independently measured on Indian roads.
Size and cabin layout
The IONIQ 5 measures 4,655 mm long and 1,890 mm wide, with a 3,000 mm wheelbase. Hyundai gives its height as 1,625 mm without the shark-fin antenna. These dimensions describe the vehicle itself; they do not include the extra room needed to open its doors or manoeuvre into a parking space.
Its dedicated electric platform places the battery beneath the floor and removes the conventional centre tunnel. Hyundai's interior page describes a walkthrough cabin and a sliding centre console. Together, those details explain the cabin arrangement more usefully than a broad claim that the car feels spacious, which would require a separate road test.
The cabin equipment includes front relaxation seats, heated and ventilated front seats, a vision roof and an eight-speaker Bose system. Hyundai also lists a 12.3-inch ccNC navigation display. The published interior treatment includes leather dyed with flaxseed oil and recycled material used in seatbacks and door armrests.
Technology and safety equipment
The updated model adds wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, controller software updates over the air, and a revised wireless phone charging area with physical seat controls. Hyundai's launch release also describes remote immobilisation through Bluelink and an in-car payment function for EV charging. These are listed functions, not a hands-on assessment of their operation.
The price page lists six airbags, stability control, tyre-pressure monitoring and parking sensors. Its SmartSense driver-assistance package includes collision warnings, lane assistance, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go operation and a surround-view monitor. The launch release adds rear parking collision-avoidance assistance and side parking-distance warnings to the update's equipment changes.
For a price comparison, the relevant combination is therefore the current 84 kWh car, its listed equipment and the Rs 55,70,600 ex-showroom amount. Hyundai says prices and specifications can change. A separately itemised on-road quotation is needed to establish local charges, rather than treating the website's product price as the complete payment.
