NEW DELHI: The Kia EV9 starts at Rs 1,29,91,312 ex-showroom across India, according to the price stated in Kia's official showroom FAQ. The page lists GT-Line AWD as its sole trim. It is a six-seat electric SUV with a 99.8 kWh battery and an ARAI MIDC-Full range rating of 561 km.

Price as of 25 October 2026, 23:00 IST. Kia labels the amount as a starting price; the table covers the only India trim listed on its showroom page.

One trim and a separate final bill

The single-trim listing leaves no lower India variant to populate an invented price range. Kia's showroom identifies all-wheel drive, captain seats in the second row and a brown-and-black interior. The published exterior choices are Ocean Blue, Aurora Black Pearl, Snow White Pearl, Panthera Metal and Pebble Gray.

The ex-showroom amount is not the same as the final payment. Kia's online sales terms state that the applicable vehicle price is the one prevailing on the invoice date. They also place insurance, applicable taxes, registration and related charges with the customer, so the showroom figure alone cannot establish an on-road total.

The same terms say an online booking does not protect the price. Payment acknowledgement and dealer acceptance are separate steps, while delivery depends on availability and completion of the required formalities. A displayed model price therefore says nothing definite about stock at a chosen outlet or the customer's delivery date.

Battery and charging figures

Kia's technical sheet specifies a 99.8 kWh battery and a 24-minute DC charging time from 10 to 80 per cent with a 350 kW charger. That is a partial recharge under the stated charging condition. It should not be described as a complete charge from an empty battery.

The two motors deliver a combined 282.6 kW and 700 Nm, according to the showroom description. The technical page quotes a 5.3-second acceleration time from standstill to 100 km/h. These are manufacturer figures; this article does not present them as results from an independent performance test.

The stated 561 km range carries the ARAI MIDC-Full label. Retaining that label matters when comparing EV specifications, because a range number separated from its test method loses useful context. It is not evidence that every highway trip, passenger load or weather condition will produce that distance between charging stops.

How the cabin is arranged

The EV9's second-row captain seats have relaxation and massage functions. Kia also lists heated and ventilated seats in the front and second rows, powered adjustment for the captain seats, and a split third row. The seating layout is therefore an important part of the specification, alongside the battery and drivetrain.

Its body is 5,015 mm long and 1,980 mm wide, with a 3,100 mm wheelbase. Those dimensions give the EV9 a substantial footprint. For a household assessing an existing parking bay, the published measurements are a useful starting point, with access around the vehicle remaining a separate practical consideration.

The cabin's listed technology includes a panoramic display arrangement, a head-up display, a digital interior mirror, over-the-air software updates and Digital Key 2.0. Kia also describes vehicle-to-load capability, allowing the car to supply external electrical equipment through the appropriate connection. Equipment descriptions should be read with the site's India-specification caveat.

Battery cover and ownership conditions

Kia's India EV warranty page specifically groups the EV9 with the EV6 for high-voltage battery capacity cover. It states a period of 96 months or 1,60,000 km from delivery to the first purchaser. The page refers owners to the relevant model's manual for the detailed period and coverage conditions.

That battery provision should not be turned into a blanket promise covering every repair. The same policy excludes normal maintenance and wear items, and identifies exclusions involving improper maintenance, unauthorised changes and certain charging-related damage. It also requires service records and maintenance in accordance with the owner's manual and service booklet.

Kia lists ten airbags and a driver-assistance package with 27 functions, including collision warnings, lane assistance and parking support. The showroom explicitly says these systems assist the driver and require human vigilance. Their inclusion adds equipment detail to the price listing without making the EV9 an autonomous vehicle.
