One published R-Line specification

The India product page gives a single R-Line price and pairs it with a defined engine and drivetrain. The technical sheet likewise names Tiguan R-Line DSG in its specification column. There is no basis in these sources for adding a manual, diesel or entry-level version to this price table.

Volkswagen labels the figure ex-showroom, which is the basis used throughout this report. It is not a Delhi on-road total. A quotation that includes registration, insurance or additional products describes a different total, so those components need to remain visible when it is compared with the published amount.

The website says the vehicle is available across Volkswagen dealerships in India. That statement is not an individual allocation or delivery commitment. The public page does not establish the waiting period for a particular colour or the stock held by a particular outlet at the time of reporting.

Engine and chassis details

The engine is rated at 204 PS and 320 Nm, with power passing through a seven-speed DSG. The technical sheet identifies 4MOTION in the transmission description. Together, these details define the advertised powertrain more precisely than the R-Line badge or the engine capacity alone.

Volkswagen also lists Dynamic Chassis Control Pro with driving-mode selection. Its brochure describes suspension adjustment alongside the selectable modes. That is an equipment description from the manufacturer; this price report does not make a road-test claim about how the car rides over an Indian road surface.

The specification sheet lists disc brakes at the front and rear, independent front suspension with MacPherson struts and an independent rear axle arrangement. Progressive steering is also specified. These mechanical details sit alongside the comfort and screen equipment and help explain what is included in the published R-Line configuration.

Dimensions, luggage and tyres

The Tiguan R-Line measures 4,539 mm in length and 1,859 mm in width. Its wheelbase is 2,680 mm, and Volkswagen lists ground clearance at 176 mm. These are manufacturer dimensions, rather than a measurement of the space needed to open the doors or manoeuvre inside a particular parking bay.

Boot capacity is quoted at 652 litres, expanding to 1,650 litres with a changed seating arrangement. The expanded volume cannot be used as the luggage allowance with all seating positions occupied. Keeping those figures separate is useful for readers comparing passenger space with luggage space for longer journeys.

The car uses 255/45 R19 tyres. The technical sheet lists a tyre repair kit comprising a compressor and sealant. That is a specific provision and should not be casually described as a full-size spare wheel. The wheel and tyre details deserve the same attention as the more prominent cabin features.

Cabin equipment and assistance systems

Volkswagen lists nine airbags and describes a package of driver-assistance features, including Lane Assist and Front Assist. Its published equipment also includes hill-start assistance, hill-descent control and parking assistance. The company presents these as support systems; their names do not establish autonomous driving capability.

The brochure describes a 15-inch infotainment display, a 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit Pro and a head-up display. Wireless phone connectivity and charging are included in the published equipment. These serve different purposes, with the instrument display, central screen and projected information remaining separate components of the cabin.

Comfort equipment includes front-seat massage, lumbar support, a panoramic sunroof and three-zone climate control. The R-Line theme also extends to the steering wheel, seats and exterior details. The specification is therefore more than a cosmetic badge, although a list of features is not a substitute for an independent assessment of their operation.

What the published price includes and leaves open

Volkswagen's warranty page states a four-year new-vehicle warranty and describes cover for manufacturing or material defects. Extended warranty and service products are presented separately. Their availability does not mean that every service, wear item or optional cover is included in the vehicle's advertised ex-showroom figure.

This report uses the precise rupee amount displayed by Volkswagen rather than rounding it to a lakh figure. It excludes finance examples, retailer offers and assumed additions. The official price page and technical documents linked below provide the reference for the R-Line specification and the basis of the amount quoted.
