Chrome and Sport belong in the same price comparison
Volkswagen publishes the Virtus prices on separate Chrome and Sport pages. Looking at only the Chrome table leaves out the GT Line, GT Plus Sport and Anniversary Edition. Combining the official tables gives the full listed choice without treating a styling family as an entirely different car model.
Chrome starts with Comfortline and moves through Highline, Highline Plus and Topline before the larger-engine GT Plus. The Sport table takes a different route, using GT Line for the smaller engine and GT Plus Sport for the larger one. The names therefore describe both a trim position and a styling theme.
The smaller-engine automatic is available at several equipment levels. Comfortline remains manual-only in the current price table. A model-wide starting figure consequently does not state the minimum cost of an automatic, and the distinction remains relevant even when a promotion shows an automatic car in its photograph.
What changes with the Anniversary Edition
The official Sport price table lists the Anniversary Edition separately at Rs 19,19,900. Its standard GT Plus Sport DSG counterpart carries the same figure. That is the published vehicle price; it does not establish dealer stock or confirm that an individually configured quotation will have no additional items.
Volkswagen describes the Anniversary Edition in Avocado Pearl with a black roof and black alloy wheels. The company says it is limited to 150 units. The edition page identifies a camera system, front parking sensors, puddle lamps and a dual-tone horn as additionally fitted equipment.
Those additions should remain identified as edition equipment when the car is described. They do not change the engine specification into a separate performance tune. The official page continues to identify the same larger petrol engine and DSG combination used by GT Plus Sport.
The engine choice behind the badges
The 1.0 TSI is rated at 115 PS and 178 Nm. Volkswagen pairs it with a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic in the Virtus. The 1.5 TSI EVO is rated at 150 PS and 250 Nm and is paired with a seven-speed DSG in the listed GT Plus versions.
GT Line should therefore not be used as shorthand for the larger engine. A GT Line manual and a GT Plus Sport DSG have different engine and transmission specifications despite sharing part of their names. The complete label in the table preserves that distinction for readers comparing written quotations.
The technical sheet specifies petrol for both engine groups. It also identifies Active Cylinder Technology with the larger engine. The current price tables contain no diesel or factory CNG entry, so neither fuel has been assigned a speculative price or added as an unlisted version.
Space, safety and equipment
Volkswagen quotes a body length of 4,561 mm and a wheelbase of 2,651 mm. Boot volume is listed at 521 litres, with an expanded figure of 1,050 litres. The luggage figures refer to different seating arrangements, rather than extra luggage capacity created by selecting a more expensive trim.
The official model pages state that six airbags are standard. They also report a five-star Global NCAP result for adult and child occupant protection. The rating is identified by the testing programme named by Volkswagen; it is not being relabelled as a Bharat NCAP result.
The brochure covers equipment such as infotainment, phone connectivity, rear air-conditioning vents, seat adjustment and climate controls in a variant matrix. The equipment grade remains relevant alongside the gearbox. Features displayed across the range are not automatically a complete specification for the entry Comfortline.
The scope of these prices
The figures are ex-showroom prices read from Volkswagen's official tables at the reporting time. They are separate from an on-road total and from the monthly finance examples on the site. No exchange offer, loyalty benefit or retailer discount has been deducted from the amounts shown.
A comparison is most precise when it retains the Chrome or Sport designation, complete grade name and gearbox. The Anniversary Edition also needs to be named explicitly. That level of detail prevents an otherwise similar-looking price from being attached to a different engine or equipment package.
