Toyota Kirloskar Motor launched the updated Glanza in India on 14 October, adding a three-cylinder Z-series engine, an automated manual transmission option for CNG buyers and Level 2 driver-assistance features. The launch brings changes to the hatchback’s front styling and cabin equipment, although several advertised features were already available.

Toyota’s announcement gives a booking amount of Rs 11,000 and says deliveries will begin in the first week of November. Its timing is inconsistent: the highlights say bookings open on 15 October, while the main text says they are already open. Buyers should confirm the opening date before paying. The release gives no confirmed dealer-level stock position or a location-specific delivery slot.

The exterior changes include a revised grille, front bumper and side skirts. Toyota also adds Bluish Black and Digital Teal Green to its colour choices. This report does not quote a vehicle price because the release’s starting-price line contains an inconsistent unit.

Which features come with which Glanza

The new brochure’s equipment table limits ADAS to V(O). Adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, lane-departure functions, automatic emergency braking and high-beam assistance are marked against that grade. Ventilated seats, a head-up display and the 360-degree camera are listed for V and V(O). Choosing CNG does not bring those top-grade features: CNG combinations are shown under S and G.

The technical sheet lists a 1,197cc engine producing 61kW and 112.4Nm on petrol, or 51.3kW and 101.8Nm in CNG mode. Toyota claims 23.80km/l for petrol manual and 24.77km/l for petrol AMT; CNG figures are 33.61km/kg and 34.47km/kg respectively. These are company figures, not a Dalimss News road test.

The product matrix places cooled wireless charging and connected functions from G upwards. Six airbags, stability control, hill-hold assistance and rear parking sensors are listed throughout the range. The S variants have a 17.78cm touchscreen; G, V and V(O) move to a 22.86cm unit, according to the table. The five-seat hatchback measures 3,990mm long, 1,745mm wide and 1,530mm high, with a 2,520mm wheelbase.

Not every item is a new addition. Toyota’s 11 July 2025 announcement had already made six airbags standard across the Glanza range. It also described a nine-inch infotainment screen, head-up display, 360-degree camera and i-Connect. Buyers comparing an outgoing car with the update should therefore separate equipment carried over from the engine, transmission and driver-assistance changes announced today.

That older announcement identified a K-series engine and quoted fuel-efficiency figures of up to 22.94km/l for petrol AMT and 30.61km/kg for CNG. Those are historical manufacturer claims, not figures for the newly launched model. The same earlier document already listed rear air-conditioning vents, automatic climate control and tilt-and-telescopic steering. The July 2025 announcement was chiefly a safety and accessory update. Its standard-airbag change should not be counted again as a new benefit when weighing the updated car against an earlier Glanza.

Connected features have conditions beyond the equipment list

Toyota’s separate i-Connect FAQ explains what the connected package requires. All Toyota owners can download the app, but connected vehicle functions need a car fitted with the relevant device. An app installation alone does not add the hardware to a lower variant.

The FAQ says remote operations, vehicle location and driver alerts are complimentary for three years from vehicle purchase. Ownership-management features are available free. Remote commands need a good network connection, and a parked car may respond more slowly while its systems are sleeping to conserve battery power. Toyota also says location accuracy depends on internet connectivity and GPS reception where the car is parked.

There are narrower operating conditions too. The FAQ says remote unlocking is available when the door was locked through the app. Auto-collision notification is described as being triggered when an airbag deploys, sending the location and time to saved emergency contacts by text message and an automated call. Owners need to enter those contacts; the description does not promise notification for every type of collision.
