Tamil Nadu extends MBBS and BDS Round 2 allotment download and reporting to 19 September

The Selection Committee under the Directorate of Medical Education and Research, Kilpauk, has extended Tamil Nadu State UG Medical Counselling Round 2 deadlines for downloading the allotment order and reporting to college. Notification No.27/SCS1(1)/2026, dated 18 September 2026, says candidates can download their allotment order till 12:00 noon on 19 September 2026, and the last reporting date for Round 2 is till 5:00 pm on 19 September 2026.
The one-page notice states that the extension follows representations from candidates and the All India Quota UG State counselling schedule published by the Medical Counselling Committee. It does not republish a fresh allotment list. It only moves the download and reporting cut-offs for candidates who already hold a Round 2 allotment under the Tamil Nadu process.
What the new cut-offs allow
Under Notification No.27, the allotment-order download window runs until noon on 19 September. Reporting at the allotted college may continue until 5:00 pm the same day. Candidates who still need a printed or downloaded order should complete that step before noon so that they reach the college with the required papers inside the reporting hours.
The notice is issued by the Selection Committee and carries the subject line Attention. It links the state Round 2 timeline to the MCC All India Quota schedule without changing the seat already shown in a candidate's Round 2 allotment. Candidates should continue to use tnmedicalselection.net for the order download rather than third-party copies.
How this sits next to the 15 September allotment lists
Tamil Nadu had already published Round 2 provisional allotment lists for government quota, management quota and the 7.5 percent government-school reservation stream around mid-September. Notification No.27 does not replace those lists. It gives allotted candidates more time to download the order and join, citing both candidate representations and the MCC calendar.
Anyone who has not yet reported should treat 19 September 5:00 pm as the last reporting time stated in this notification. Anyone who still needs the order file should treat noon the same day as the download limit. Missing either mark leaves the candidate outside the window described by Notification No.27.
The Selection Committee has not used this notice to announce Round 3 or a new choice-filling round. The text is limited to Round 2 download and reporting. Candidates waiting for a later round should watch separate notices on the official portal. For Round 2 joiners, the practical checklist is simple: download by noon on 19 September, report by 5:00 pm, and keep the allotment order and fee receipts ready at the college desk.
Colleges receiving Round 2 joiners should continue to follow the Selection Committee reporting instructions already issued with the allotment process, now read with the 19 September 5:00 pm outer limit in Notification No.27. A candidate who arrives without the downloaded allotment order after noon risks delay at the verification desk even if the college gate is still open until evening.
The notice language is deliberately short. It does not rewrite fee charts, bond formats or document checklists. Those remain as published for Round 2. What changes is only the calendar: noon for the order download, 5:00 pm for last reporting, both on 19 September 2026. Candidates travelling from other districts should plan to finish the download early enough to reach the allotted campus with originals in hand.
Students comparing this extension with the All India Quota timeline should remember that Notification No.27 is a Tamil Nadu State counselling instrument. MCC notices govern AIQ seats. Holding both an AIQ and a state seat remains subject to the resignation and forfeiture rules of each authority. This state notice only lengthens Round 2 download and reporting for the Tamil Nadu process.
Notification No.27/SCS1(1)/2026 is dated 18 September 2026 and is hosted on the Selection Committee site. Candidates should read the PDF themselves before travelling, because the hours in the notice are the controlling record for this extension.
