NEW DELHI: The new Renault Duster's advertised warranty can run up to seven years or 1,50,000 km under Renault Forever, whichever comes first. It combines a standard warranty with conditional additional cover activated through scheduled authorised servicing. The programme should be read as a sequence of renewals, with its own parts exclusions, rather than a single promise covering every component for the full period.

Read the annual limit before the overall headline

Renault's programme terms define the eligible vehicle as the Duster 2026, together with any other vehicles subsequently declared eligible by the company. The seven-year headline on the Duster product page therefore does not establish eligibility for a previous-generation Duster. The identity of the vehicle and its original delivery date are the starting points for an ownership check.

The distinction between the overall cap and an individual renewal matters for a driver covering substantial distances. The additional period ends by time or distance, whichever arrives first. A household should therefore keep the next service date and the next mileage threshold together in its records. A calendar reminder alone cannot show whether a distance limit has already been reached.

For background on the car's engine and trim prices, see the Duster petrol price list. The warranty question comes after that configuration decision. A more expensive variant does not, by itself, change the renewal conditions published in Renault Forever's terms.

Servicing keeps the programme moving

The additional cover depends on uninterrupted periodic maintenance at an authorised Renault dealership within the prescribed time or mileage. Renault's written example says a missed scheduled service terminates additional cover and later maintenance does not restore eligibility. That makes the due point more consequential than an ordinary appointment preference.

Before leaving a service visit, a useful practical check is to have the next due date, next due mileage and warranty status recorded together. Keep the invoice with the previous service papers. This recommendation is about maintaining an intelligible record: it does not create a grace period, and no grace period should be assumed from an appointment request that has not yet resulted in the required work.

Vehicle age continues to run from the original delivery date despite an ownership transfer. For a second owner, the important file is therefore the car's complete maintenance history, not just invoices generated since the latest purchase. A recent service stamp cannot explain an earlier gap. Ask the workshop to check the sequence against the vehicle's actual schedule.

Additional cover has a different parts list

The programme's annexure excludes items including shock absorbers, clutch components, brake wear parts, lights, the sunroof and multimedia equipment. It also lists battery-related components among its exclusions. Owners should check the named component in the annexure before assuming that the additional period reproduces the standard warranty's scope.

This distinction is especially relevant when reading the Duster's equipment list. The product page promotes items such as a panoramic sunroof and connected multimedia on specified versions. Their presence in the vehicle does not override the additional-warranty annexure. Equipment availability and repair entitlement are separate documents, each answering a different ownership question.

Renault's standard warranty terms deal with confirmed material or assembly defects and let the authorised dealer decide whether repair or replacement is appropriate. They also distinguish original-equipment battery and tyre warranties handled by their respective manufacturers. For an actual fault, establish which coverage applies to the component before treating the overall programme headline as the answer.

Keep the ownership promise separate from the powertrain story

The Duster hybrid variant report and hybrid booking explainer cover other parts of the model's Indian offering. Neither should be used to infer a battery warranty from the seven-year vehicle programme. Component-specific terms need their own reading.

For a Duster owner, the useful outcome is a clear record of the current stage of cover, the applicable parts list and the next maintenance deadline. Keep those details with the delivery document. If a repair is proposed, ask the authorised workshop to identify the relevant warranty stage and provide its coverage decision in writing before agreeing to chargeable work.
