Renault India is now listing the Duster strong hybrid E-Tech 160 from Rs 16.99 lakh, with Evolution, Techno and Emotion versions appearing in its official Delhi price selector.
The selector shows Evolution at Rs 16,99,000, Techno at Rs 18,99,000 and Emotion at Rs 19,49,000. Dual-tone versions cost Rs 19,19,000 for Techno and Rs 19,69,000 for Emotion. Price as of 17 October 2026, 2:40 PM IST. These are ex-showroom vehicle prices, before applicable local taxes and insurance, rather than on-road quotations.
The step from Evolution to Techno is Rs 2 lakh; moving from Techno to Emotion adds Rs 50,000. The listed dual-tone premium is Rs 20,000. Renault’s price selector requires a state and city selection, so this check uses Delhi.
Renault’s dated 9 October announcement had set 17 October for the full India market debut and opened bookings at Rs 21,000. It confirmed ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 29 km/l. The announcement identified this as Renault’s first E-Tech model for India under its futuREady roadmap. Bookings were offered through the official website and authorised dealerships; the token payment was not the vehicle’s purchase price. Dalimss News covered that earlier booking and mileage announcement; the current variant-price listing is the new development.
What the hybrid changes
The E-Tech powertrain combines a 1.8-litre petrol engine, two electric motors and a 1.4 kWh battery. Renault specifies 160 PS of combined system output and a multimode hybrid transmission. The battery recovers energy during deceleration and can be charged by the engine, without an external charging connection.
The petrol engine can drive the wheels or generate electricity, while electric propulsion can operate on its own under suitable conditions. A self-charging hybrid therefore still needs petrol; the description does not turn it into a battery-only electric vehicle.
The company advertises electric operation for up to 80 per cent of city driving time, based on its stated test conditions. This is a time-based claim, not a promise that 80 per cent of every trip’s distance will be electric. The certified mileage also does not guarantee the result on an individual commute.
The hybrid product page highlights an illuminated Duster grille emblem, E-Tech badging and dune-brown upholstery. Its range illustrations do not establish every feature fitted to the lowest-priced version.
The booking payment is only part of the bill
Renault’s model-specific booking conditions say registration taxes, insurance and other applicable government levies are added above the ex-showroom vehicle price. The booking payment is adjusted against the final invoice. It is an expression of interest and does not, by itself, confirm allocation, invoicing or a completed purchase.
The supplying dealership communicates a tentative delivery date, which can change. Customers therefore need a written quotation for their selected variant and colour, together with a delivery commitment. The price selector alone does not establish a handover date or an introductory-price expiry. No such deadline is assumed in these figures.
Cancellation is handled by the selected dealership rather than through an online cancellation facility. The published conditions specify a Rs 1,000 cancellation charge per car and refund processing within 20 working days after cancellation when the required details are correctly supplied. Buyers should retain their booking receipt and paperwork.
Ownership cover needs a separate check too. Renault’s New Duster warranty page distinguishes the standard three-year/1,00,000 km warranty from additional annual cover under Renault Forever, subject to servicing and programme conditions. Its maximum seven-year/1,50,000 km description is not an unconditional seven-year standard warranty. Buyers should confirm the hybrid-specific component coverage in their vehicle documents. Additional cover is granted after eligible scheduled servicing, for one year or 10,000 km at a time, within the overall limit. Renault says the additional warranty has different parts coverage from the standard warranty and does not include roadside assistance. That distinction matters when comparing the cost of ownership with another SUV.
Dalimss News has also examined Renault’s existing October offers. Those earlier schemes should not automatically be deducted from the newly listed hybrid prices: the applicable engine, variant and offer conditions must match the vehicle being ordered.
