NEW DELHI: Nokia 5310 (2024) is listed at Rs 3,989 on HMD's India store, compared with Rs 4,499 for Nokia 3210 4G. The Rs 510 gap separates two different takes on the keypad phone: the 5310 emphasises music controls and speakers, while the 3210 brings 4G connectivity and cloud-based services.

Price as of 28 October 2026, 00:23 IST. The selected 3210 is Y2K Gold and the selected 5310 is Black/Red. These are the handset amounts displayed on the product pages, before any separate mobile-service expenditure. The prices are not a claim that every colour will be deliverable to every PIN code.

Music buttons or a connected keypad phone

The 5310 has dedicated music buttons and dual front-facing speakers. HMD also lists Bluetooth connectivity, an MP3 player and FM radio. Its physical arrangement makes playback controls part of the handset's design, which is a concrete distinction for someone who frequently pauses or skips locally stored tracks.

The 3210 approaches entertainment differently. HMD describes a Cloud Phone Service that provides access to online content through cloud-hosted shortcuts. Its India page also lists a preloaded PhonePe UPI application with Scan & Pay. Those are specific advertised services; they do not establish that every application familiar from an Android phone can be installed.

The network difference comes before nostalgia

The 5310 specification sheet identifies its maximum network generation as 2G and lists GSM/GPRS 900/1800. The 3210 sheet lists 4G and an India-specific set of LTE bands. For a family passing an existing SIM to a relative, confirming the operator and local network compatibility is more useful than judging either handset by its revived model name.

That also explains why a price-only comparison is incomplete. The less expensive 5310 is not simply the 3210 with a different case. Its larger display and dedicated audio controls sit alongside a different network specification. The 3210's connected services, meanwhile, need to be evaluated in the context of the intended mobile connection.

Some hardware is shared, some is not

Both phones have a removable battery of the same stated capacity, a USB-C connection, a headphone socket and Bluetooth 5.0. The identical capacity does not prove identical endurance. The phones have different capabilities, and the way an owner uses calls, music and online content will affect the experience.

The screen comparison favours different priorities too. The 5310's panel is physically larger, while both are listed as QVGA. That is a size distinction rather than evidence of more screen detail. Neither manufacturer page provides a comparative readability test, so larger lettering or easier navigation should not be assumed from the diagonal alone.

The 3210 has the higher stated camera resolution. That is useful specification information, but it does not establish low-light performance or document-reading quality. Both are keypad phones with modest imaging hardware, and the official listings supply no side-by-side photographic evidence.

Account for local storage and the box

HMD says a separately sold microSD card is required for MP3 playback on these models. Their internal storage figures should therefore not be treated as the space available for a personal music collection. The 5310 box list includes a headset, while both specification pages list a charger and removable battery.

The choice of category depends on required functions, not the Nokia names' nostalgic appeal.
