Storage separates these budget listings
Storm and Shark have similar screen diagonals, but their listed memory allocations are different. Storm's larger physical RAM and storage figures are the more useful starting point for comparing the price step than the decorative finish. A phone used for lecture downloads and local media has different storage demands from one used mainly for calls and messages.
Lava advertises additional RAM expansion on both devices. Shark's page explicitly identifies that extra allocation as virtual RAM. It should not be counted as another bank of physical memory when placing the phones side by side. The table keeps the hardware figures separate so that the comparison does not inflate what is fitted inside either handset.
The processor names also differ. Lava names MediaTek's D6080 for Storm and Unisoc's T765 for Shark. That establishes the platforms used, but it does not establish an application loading time or a sustained gaming result. This report does not turn marketing benchmark claims into a claim that every game or everyday task will run faster on a particular model.
Storm adds a different rear-camera view
The ultrawide camera is a practical distinction in Storm's listing. It offers a separate framing option for a group or a scene where stepping backwards is inconvenient. Shark's description calls its rear setup an AI dual camera, but the page read for this report does not identify an equivalent ultrawide lens. An unspecified secondary camera should not be assumed to serve that purpose.
Storm also lists a 16MP front camera and electronic image stabilisation support in its camera description. The official pages establish the hardware claims, not the quality of a video call or the sharpness of a moving subject. Our Lava Blaze Curve price guide provides a separate reference for another Lava camera and display configuration.
The screen information needs similar care. Storm advertises a punch-hole display and Widevine L1 support alongside its refresh rate. Shark's shop description identifies its HD+ panel but does not provide a refresh-rate number in the text checked here. We have left that comparison open instead of transferring a specification from a similarly named Shark model.
Battery capacity is shared, software details differ
Storm advertises 33W charging through its Type-C connection. Shark's product text gives battery capacity without a charging-power figure. Those descriptions do not support a timed charging race between the phones. Nor does the shared battery capacity establish equal endurance: it simply means that the capacity figure is common ground in the published specifications.
Shark's page names Android 15, a side fingerprint sensor and an IP54 dust-and-water-resistance rating. The rating should not be turned into a claim that the handset is suitable for underwater use. Lava also promotes a software interface without bloatware. These are details specific to the Shark listing, rather than features inferred from the rest of the company's range.
For readers looking across brands, the Infinix Hot 60 versus Hot 60i comparison and vivo T5e versus T5x comparison offer further configuration comparisons. Model suffixes matter: this article concerns Shark 5G itself, rather than another Shark-series handset with a different specification sheet.
What the official prices establish
The shop marks these handsets unavailable when checked. Their displayed prices remain useful reference points, but they are not confirmation of stock, delivery or a price at an independent shop. Storm's listing is the more extensively specified of this pair, particularly for cameras and charging; Shark's lower price comes with less physical memory and a different stated software and protection package.
