NEW DELHI: Canon lists the MAXIFY GX1070 at Rs 29,340 and the MAXIFY GX2070 at Rs 33,275 in India, inclusive of all taxes. Both offer refillable ink tanks, network connectivity and automatic two-sided printing. The GX2070 adds fax and an automatic document feeder. Price as of 26 October 2026, 23:45 IST.
| Model | Official MRP | Functions | Main handling distinction |

Office features are already present on the GX1070
The lower-priced GX1070 is not a USB-only entry point. Canon lists Wi-Fi, wired LAN, AirPrint, Mopria and Direct Wireless. It also has a 2.7-inch colour touchscreen. For a desk shared by a computer and mobile devices, the starting model already provides several ways of reaching the printer.
Canon's headline A4 ISO speeds are the same for this pair: up to 15 images per minute in monochrome and 10 in colour. The extra money for the GX2070 therefore should not be described as buying a faster print engine on the basis of these published figures.
The GX1070 supports automatic duplex printing. That is a concrete workflow feature for reports and forms that need text on both sides. It removes the normal need to reload the printed sheets manually for the reverse side, provided the job uses a supported paper size and type.
The GX2070 changes the scanning routine
The GX2070's feeder is the central difference for an office processing batches of loose originals. Canon specifies capacity for 35 sheets of A4 or Letter plain paper. The same capacity does not apply indiscriminately to every supported format: the specification lists a smaller allowance for Legal paper.
A feeder can reduce repeated placement of individual originals on the scanner glass. It does not automatically mean the machine scans both sides of each original in a single pass. Automatic two-sided printing and automatic document feeding describe different mechanisms, so the presence of one should not be used to infer the other.
Fax is also listed on the GX2070, alongside printing, scanning and copying. Whether that matters depends on the office's document exchange process. It is a specific additional function, rather than a reason to assume every task will be quicker than it is on the GX1070.
Paper capacity and ink claims
Both models list a cassette capacity of 250 sheets for A4 or Letter plain paper. Their automatic two-sided printing specifications identify A4 and Letter under the stated plain-paper conditions. Other supported media, including photo papers and envelopes, have their own limits and should not inherit the plain-paper capacity by assumption.
Canon describes these printers as using pigment ink and promotes resistance to water and highlighter marks. That is a document-oriented feature claim from the manufacturer. It should not be expanded into a guarantee against every spill, paper type or storage condition, none of which has been independently tested here.
The GX1070 specification separates standard and Economy ink-yield figures. Standard mode is listed at 3,000 pages for black and for the composite colour set; Economy mode is listed at 4,500. Canon explains that Economy mode reduces ink density. The larger figure is therefore not an unconditional yield at every quality setting.
Refillable tanks also do not remove maintenance consumables. Canon lists a replaceable maintenance cartridge for these models. When comparing an office's operating budget, the printer, ink, paper and maintenance items belong in separate lines; the hardware MRP alone cannot establish the total cost of a document workflow.
Warranty has a time and usage limit
Canon's Indian warranty table gives the GX1070 and GX2070 onsite coverage for one year or 50,000 prints, whichever is earlier. Its printer terms limit onsite service to locations within the municipal boundary of the nearest authorised service centre; outside that area, carry-in terms apply.
The practical difference between these models remains clear: the GX1070 supplies the core networked colour-printing setup, while the GX2070 adds the feeder and fax workflow. Neither the higher model number nor the shared MAXIFY name replaces a check of the exact functions required for a particular set of documents.
