The screen size does not explain the price gap

This comparison covers the exact product references in the table. Acer uses Nitro across many displays, so a quotation that omits the final model letters can describe a different panel. The prices above are the amounts displayed by the brand's store, without an additional coupon or assumed payment benefit.

The VG270 X1 has a Full HD screen, while the XV272U X1 moves to WQHD at the same diagonal size. That gives the latter a denser pixel grid. For desktop text and detailed imagery, resolution is therefore the relevant distinction, even though the headline screen size is unchanged.

The same difference also changes the rendering workload when a game runs at native resolution. A monitor specification cannot establish the frame rate that a particular laptop or graphics card will deliver. The game's settings and the computer's output remain part of the result, rather than being replaced by the refresh-rate number.

What the VG270 X1 includes

Acer lists AMD FreeSync Premium, HDR10 support and 99% sRGB coverage for the VG270 X1. Its connection list includes HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.2, with audio output and built-in stereo speakers. These are useful distinctions from a basic office display, although the specification is not a measured review of image quality.

The VG270 X1 package list includes an HDMI cable, along with the monitor, stand, power cord and manual. Acer's page gives a three-year warranty. The cable detail matters when comparing the listed package with the ports available on a computer, especially if the planned connection uses DisplayPort.

HDR format support should be read precisely. It identifies a capability in the published specification; it does not by itself establish the brightness, contrast or consistency that an independent HDR test would measure. There is no basis here to turn the HDR label into a blanket claim about superior picture quality.

Where the XV272U X1 differs

The XV272U X1 page advertises 90% DCI-P3 coverage and HDR400, alongside its higher resolution. It lists HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.4. Its package contents explicitly include both HDMI and DisplayPort cables, a small but concrete difference from the VG270 X1's listed bundle.

The more expensive model also has Acer's ErgoStand, with height, tilt, swivel and pivot adjustment. That changes how the screen can be positioned at a desk. The benefit is physical flexibility: it does not raise the refresh rate, and it should not be confused with a change in the underlying resolution.

Acer lists the XV272U X1 at approximately 5.85kg and the VG270 X1 at approximately 3.8kg. Both product pages specify a three-year warranty. These details are relevant when planning a desk arrangement, while any separate mounting hardware still needs its own compatibility check.

How to read the gaming claims

Both listings advertise a response time of 0.5ms, with the XV272U X1 specifically using a grey-to-grey description. That is a manufacturer specification, not a measured result from this comparison. Response time, refresh rate and the frame rate produced by a computer describe different parts of the display chain.

The verified differences are consequently more useful than a simple “faster monitor” label: Full HD versus WQHD, the listed stand movement, port versions and supplied cables. The published specifications do not establish a winner for every game or every computer, and this price comparison makes no such claim.
