MCC sets Round 2 FLOAT document upload and institute verification deadlines

The Medical Counselling Committee has issued Notice No. 24 dated 18 September 2026 for candidates who chose the FLOAT option in Round 2 of NEET UG counselling. The notice lists eight timed steps covering physical reporting for FREEZE candidates, willingness to upgrade, document upload for FLOAT candidates, institute-level verification, and the window in which institutes must confirm or cancel admission. Candidates are told to check their admission status after logging into their MCC account after 12:30 PM on 19 September.

Notice No. 24 sits under reference U-11011/07/2026-MEC and is addressed to candidates who selected FLOAT for Round 2. It does not reopen choice filling. It sets the last operational hours for reporting, uploads and institute action so that a Round 2 allotment can be confirmed or cancelled on the portal.

Reporting, willingness and FLOAT uploads on 18 September

The first row in the notice sets the last date of physical reporting for FREEZE candidates of Round 2 at up to 5:00 PM on 18 September 2026. The second row says submission of willingness for upgradation, that is choosing FREEZE or FLOAT, remains available only up to 4:30 PM on 18 September. FLOAT candidates must then upload documents by 5:00 PM on the same day.

MCC also says a list of allotted Round 2 candidates whose document verification is pending will be published institute-wise by 6:00 PM on 18 September. Institutes then verify documents and may raise a discrepancy by 8:00 PM. Candidates who receive a discrepancy query get a last chance to re-upload corrected documents by 11:30 PM on 18 September. The notice warns that if corrected documents are not uploaded, the seat will get cancelled.

Institute confirm or cancel and status check on 19 September

Institutes must either confirm or cancel the Round 2 admission of the candidate by 11:00 AM on 19 September 2026. After 12:30 PM on 19 September, candidates are advised to log in and check their admission status. That status check is the practical end of the Notice No. 24 chain for a FLOAT candidate who has followed the upload and correction steps.

The notice separates FREEZE and FLOAT duties clearly. FREEZE candidates face a physical reporting deadline. FLOAT candidates must complete online document upload and respond to any institute query inside the same evening. Willingness to stay on FREEZE or FLOAT closes earlier than the document upload cut-off. Candidates should therefore finish the willingness step before focusing on scans and re-uploads.

MCC posted Notice No. 24 on 18 September 2026. The hours printed in the table are the operative limits. A candidate who misses the re-upload window after a discrepancy is raised risks seat cancellation under the terms stated in the notice. Keeping a copy of the uploaded files and watching the account after 12:30 PM on 19 September are the concrete follow-up steps the notice points to.

Round 2 FLOAT document work under Notice No. 24 is therefore a same-day and next-morning process: upload by evening on 18 September, resolve discrepancies by 11:30 PM, wait for institute confirm or cancel by 11:00 AM on 19 September, then verify the account status after 12:30 PM. Candidates should rely on the MCC portal record rather than informal messages when deciding whether the Round 2 seat stands.
