NEW DELHI: KTM lists the 390 Enduro R at Rs 3,39,227 ex-showroom Delhi, below the 390 Adventure S at Rs 3,96,744. Both prices appear on official booking pages. The difference concerns much more than bodywork: the Enduro is the slimmer trail-focused proposition, while the Adventure S brings a larger tank and road-touring equipment.

Similar engine numbers, different jobs

The Enduro R specification sheet gives a displacement of 398.63 cc, while its product and booking pages round that to 399 cc. Peak output is quoted at 8,500 rpm and peak torque at 6,500 rpm. The Adventure S uses the same published displacement and output figures, so engine capacity does little to explain the price difference.

Instead, picture how the motorcycle will be used between stretches of difficult ground. A machine spending much of its time reaching a trailhead has different demands from one expected to carry its rider through a long highway day. Equal peak power does not make their seating, fuel stops or low-speed handling interchangeable.

The Enduro puts the emphasis on movement

KTM describes a flat, single-piece seat, wide handlebars and footpegs with removable rubber inserts on the Enduro R. These details support moving around on the motorcycle and riding while standing. The shape of the seat is therefore part of the riding arrangement, rather than simply a cosmetic alternative to the Adventure's bodywork.

Its official specification page lists an 860 mm saddle, 253 mm ground clearance and a 177 kg kerb weight. Front and rear suspension travel are 200 mm and 205 mm respectively. Those measurements describe a tall machine; seat height should be assessed with riding boots and the rider's normal stopping technique in mind.

The wheel description is equally consequential. A tube-type spoke arrangement belongs in the puncture and recovery plan for a remote ride. KTM's booking and product pages disagree on the tyre brand, so neither brand has been treated here as a guaranteed delivery specification. The wheel sizes themselves agree across the relevant Enduro pages.

The Adventure S adds touring equipment

The Adventure S product page lists cruise control, Street, Rain and Offroad modes, cornering traction control and cornering ABS. Its equipment makes the road sections of a journey a distinct part of the brief. Cruise control, for example, addresses sustained travel, while the adjustable suspension offers a way to tailor chassis response.

Its tubeless spoke-wheel description comes from the model page and the current adventure-range brochure. The booking page contains a conflicting rear-wheel size, which should be clarified against the supplied motorcycle. This comparison follows the model page's wheel specification and flags that discrepancy rather than blending the two descriptions.

For the owner, the larger fuel tank also changes how a journey is planned. Tank capacity alone cannot establish an actual touring range, so no distance between fuel stops is claimed here. Fuel use, route and load would need to be known before turning either tank figure into a usable trip estimate.

The KTM RC 390 price: Rs 3,22,719 ex-showroom Delhi offers related adventure-bike context, while the KTM 250 Adventure wheels explained: 19-inch front, 17-inch rear examines a different approach to the category.

Keep the exact model suffix on any written quotation. Enduro R and Adventure S describe different packages despite the shared 390 badge. Confirm the wheel specification, supplied tyres and accessory list against that named motorcycle, then keep those details with the price breakdown for the eventual delivery check.
