NEW DELHI: Kawasaki's Indian product pages list the KLX110RL at Rs 2,88,000 and the KLX140F at Rs 3,79,000, making the KLX110RL the lower-priced of these two trail motorcycles. Both are shown as Standard editions in Lime Green. The main distinction is physical scale: their seats, wheels and chassis suit very different riding positions.

Price as of 29 October 2026, 09:42 IST. These are the amounts displayed on Kawasaki's official Indian model pages. They are not presented here as complete ownership or transport budgets. Both pages retain their 2024 model-year labels, so the listings should not be mistaken for a newly announced launch.

Start with the rider, then the engine

The KLX110RL is described by Kawasaki as a compact off-road motorcycle for learning and recreational riding. Its manual clutch is a significant detail: a small engine does not mean an automatic transmission. Clutch operation and coordinated gear changes are part of what the motorcycle asks of its rider.

Its specification table lists a steel backbone frame, carburettor and air-cooled single-cylinder engine. Electric and kick starting are both specified. The front and rear brakes are drums, while suspension travel is listed at 140 mm at the front and 132 mm at the rear. This is a compact package with a clearly defined purpose.

For an Indian household considering organised trail practice, rider fit cannot be reduced to engine size. Think about reaching the controls while standing, handling the machine after a stall and recovering balance on uneven ground. A low seat may help with some tasks, but the relationship between rider and motorcycle needs to be assessed as a whole.

The KLX140F moves to a larger platform

The KLX140F uses an air-cooled single too, but places it in a high-tensile steel perimeter frame. Kawasaki specifies electric starting and a five-speed gearbox with a manual clutch. The company describes its narrow body and frame layout as part of its trail-riding design, rather than presenting it as an everyday road commuter.

The tyre specifications identify a 21-inch front rim and an 18-inch rear rim. Suspension travel is 190 mm at the front and 200 mm at the rear. Together with the higher seat in the table, these details show why the larger motorcycle should not be regarded simply as the same small bike with extra engine capacity.

Kawasaki lists disc brakes at both ends on the KLX140F. However, the feature copy and technical table disagree on disc diameters, so no brake-disc measurement is used in this comparison. The difference in brake type from the KLX110RL remains clear without relying on those conflicting figures.

Why their prices need a different frame of reference

These motorcycles make more sense when the comparison begins with the practice setting. A training session on a compact machine and a trail outing on a larger platform are different activities, even if both take place away from traffic. Matching the motorcycle to that setting is more informative than ranking the pair by price alone.

Neither peak power nor fuel economy is needed to establish that distinction, and neither is claimed here. The published chassis dimensions already explain much of the difference. For someone planning transport to a riding venue, storage and the ability to move the bike around also deserve attention alongside the displayed purchase amount.

For these two listings, retain the full model names on any written specification or quotation. KLX110RL and KLX140F are different machines, and abbreviating either to a generic KLX can obscure the wheel and seating arrangement being discussed. The official pages are useful starting points for checking exactly which motorcycle is being described.
