NEW DELHI: Kia's official Sorento trim comparison lists prices from Rs 27,99,000 for HTE to Rs 38,49,000 for HTX(A). The six published amounts are starting manufacturer suggested retail prices for the named trims. They do not form a separate quotation for every diesel, hybrid or seating combination, an important distinction in this three-row SUV's line-up.

Sorento trimOfficial starting MSRP
HTERs 27,99,000
HTE(O)Rs 29,49,000
HTKRs 32,49,000
HTK(A)Rs 33,49,000
HTXRs 37,49,000
HTX(A)Rs 38,49,000

Read these as six trim starting points

Price as of 28 October 2026, 23:36 IST. The table reproduces every trim heading on Kia's comparison page. Registration, insurance and a specific configured vehicle quotation require their own amounts. No unlisted engine premium or seat-layout premium has been added to the official figures.

Sorento's configuration is more involved than the price ladder alone suggests. Kia lists a Smartstream D2.2 diesel with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission and a Smartstream 1.6 turbo GDI hybrid with a six-speed automatic. The comparison matrix includes both powertrain descriptions across the trim columns. That establishes the choices being presented, but does not justify assigning the same starting price to every possible build.

Seating adds another layer. Kia's matrix shows seven-seat availability across the range and six-seat availability from HTK upwards. A family comparing versions therefore needs the seat arrangement attached to the quotation, rather than assuming that a higher trim name automatically means a particular second-row layout.

Where the equipment changes

The HTE equipment list includes a powered driver seat, dual-zone automatic temperature control and a touchscreen. HTE(O) introduces a different set of conveniences, including a panoramic sunroof, front-seat ventilation, a powered tailgate and a powered passenger seat. These are concrete cabin and access changes that explain why adjacent trim names should not be treated as interchangeable.

At HTK, Kia highlights a panoramic curved display, a Bose sound system, a surround-view camera and a blind-view monitor. Those features are relevant in different situations: entertainment and display layout shape the cabin experience, while camera views can help the driver see around the vehicle during low-speed manoeuvres.

Kia associates HTK(A) with Level 2 driver assistance. Higher in the range, HTX lists all-wheel drive with terrain modes, rear-seat ventilation, a head-up display and remote parking assistance. HTX(A) adds the more extensive Level 2+ assistance package and a digital key among its headline equipment. These descriptions come from the official showroom, with specification dependent on the final variant.

Why the Sorento needs a configuration check

The model-specific issue here is the overlap between the seating, powertrain and equipment decisions. A second-row passenger's preference for separate seats can point toward one configuration, while the driver's interest in the hybrid or all-wheel drive raises another question. A trim table is a useful starting map, but cannot collapse those separate decisions into a single specification.

That is particularly relevant when the same household uses the vehicle for weekday commuting and journeys with relatives. The number of occupied seats, the space needed for luggage and access to the rear row change together. A cabin demonstration with the actual seat layout says more about that use than a photograph of the most expensive version.

Readers can place the Sorento alongside our reports on the Kia Carnival, Carens Clavis and Seltos. Those are separate model reports, with their own price checks and equipment descriptions.

Ownership cover is a separate term

Kia's Sorento brochure lists a three-year unlimited-kilometre vehicle warranty and an eight-year or 1,60,000 km high-voltage battery warranty for the hybrid. The latter is a battery-specific provision. Its existence does not extend the stated vehicle warranty to the same duration or make every component subject to identical terms.

The figures above are current published trim starting prices, with the configuration limits kept visible. For a vehicle spanning diesel, hybrid and alternative seating arrangements, that is the accurate way to read Kia's list without inventing a price for a version the official page has not separately priced.
