NEW DELHI: Infinix's published limited warranty runs for 1 year from the original retail purchase, covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. For a Note 12 5G owner, the first check is the purchase date and the fault being reported, rather than how long the model has appeared in the catalogue.
| Claim check | Official position |
|---|---|
| Warranty period | 1 year from original retail purchase |
| Covered basis | Materials and workmanship defects under normal use |
| Battery wear | Normal consumption excluded; manufacturing defects treated separately |
| Service preparation | Back up data, remove private information, disable security passwords |
| Note 12 5G identifier | X671 |
| Listed memory | 6GB RAM, 64GB storage |
The manufacturer also warns that service involves deletion and reformatting of storage. Preparing a claim therefore has a data-protection stage as well as a hardware stage. A warranty label does not mean a service visit preserves everything currently stored on the handset.
Start with the right Note 12
Infinix's India specification page names this device Note 12 5G and gives the model identifier above. It lists a 17.02cm Full HD+ AMOLED display, with 2400 x 1080 pixels, alongside a 5000mAh battery. Those details help distinguish the handset from other similarly named Note phones when describing a problem.
Its published storage specification includes a dedicated microSD slot, supporting expansion up to 2TB. If the fault concerns missing photos or files, record whether they were held on internal storage or removable media. That is a practical way to make the complaint clearer; it does not itself determine whether a component qualifies for warranty repair.
The distinction is especially useful for this model because the listed internal capacity and the supported card capacity are very different. A service description that merely says the phone has lost its storage leaves the technician to establish which medium was involved. Naming it at the outset gives the complaint a more precise starting point.
Record symptoms before handing over the phone
A useful preparation note describes what happens, which task was underway and whether the behaviour can be repeated. For example, distinguish a blank display from a phone that still rings with nothing visible. These are reporting suggestions, not remote diagnoses or a promise that a particular repair will be approved.
Keep the invoice and your symptom note together. Avoid deciding the cause in advance. A short, factual description is more useful than claiming that every charging complaint is a battery defect or that every connection failure is a damaged radio.
The specification lists dual SIM support, mobile connectivity through 5G and earlier networks, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0. When the complaint concerns connectivity, identify the connection you were trying to use. There is no need to turn the service note into a list of every wireless feature.
Separate covered defects from other damage
Infinix excludes accidental damage, liquid contact, cosmetic damage, normal ageing and unauthorised servicing from its published warranty. Ordinary battery deterioration is also excluded unless the failure results from defective materials or workmanship. The relevant distinction is the cause, rather than simply the component's name.
A service assessment is still needed. This article does not establish a free repair for an individual handset, offer a repair quotation or set a turnaround deadline. The manufacturer's warranty page supplies the general conditions, while the phone's condition and purchase record supply the circumstances of the claim.
Protect the contents before service
Follow the published backup and privacy requirements before submission. Check that important material can actually be accessed from your backup before clearing the handset. That check is practical preparation: a backup that has not been checked should not be assumed to contain everything you intended to preserve.
The desk's Hot 60i warranty guide covers another model. Our GT 50 Pro warranty report records its separate terms, while the XPAD model explainer shows why exact product identification matters.
The warranty exclusions also cover a removed or defaced serial number and modifications that alter functionality or capability without Infinix's written permission. The policy excludes non-Infinix products and software even when they are packaged or sold with an Infinix product. It identifies technical specifications, user manuals and service information as published usage guidelines.
The Note 12 5G specification lists dimensions of 164.67 x 76.9 x 7.98mm and a weight of 186g. Its sound specification names dual speakers with DTS Surround Sound. The connectivity table lists Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, hotspot support and no NFC. The memory-card slot is explicitly listed as non-hybrid.
