The connection is part of the specification
The Smart Tank name describes its ink system, not its network functions. On the 525, the standard connection is a Hi-Speed USB 2.0 device port. A home planning to keep the printer away from the computer should account for that physical connection before deciding where the machine will stand.
This matters for a family workflow in which a worksheet arrives on a phone while the printer sits beside a desktop. The 525 should not be described as offering direct wireless printing merely because other printers in the Smart Tank range do. The relevant question is how the file reaches the computer connected to this particular model.
HP specifies Windows support on the India page and its linked data sheet. The current computer, available USB connection and printer software therefore belong in the setup check. A low purchase price does not answer those compatibility questions, and an unrelated printer tutorial may describe network menus that this model does not provide.
Separate everyday speed from draft claims
The A4 ISO print ratings are up to 12 pages per minute in black and five in colour. HP also provides faster draft-mode figures in the specifications. They describe different test conditions and should not be presented as the same output setting. A colour-heavy classroom handout needs to be considered against the colour specification, rather than the black text headline.
The linked data sheet gives first-page-out times, from ready, as fast as 14 seconds in black and 21 seconds in colour. That initial wait is distinct from sustained printing speed. For occasional application forms, the time taken to prepare a file and start the first page can be more noticeable than the speed of a longer batch.
The recommended monthly volume is 400 to 800 pages, while the duty cycle is up to 3,000 A4 pages. HP explains that duty cycle is a maximum and is not the ongoing recommended volume. These figures serve different purposes; a household should not treat the larger one as a routine workload target.
Included ink needs its footnotes
The store introduction and the data-sheet highlights describe included ink for up to 4,000 black or 6,000 colour pages. Those are manufacturer yield claims, not measured results from this report. HP says actual yield varies with page content and other factors, and some included ink is used during printer setup.
There is a further qualification to the colour claim: the data-sheet footnote says an additional black ink bottle is required to print 6,000 colour test pages. This prevents the headline yield from being read as a guarantee that every part of that workload is covered by the starting box alone. Refill planning needs the footnote as well as the large number.
For a home printing a mixture of text, diagrams and photographs, a single cost-per-page figure would need more information than the printer price and the headline yield. Paper, the actual mix of pages and the relevant replacement supplies all affect the calculation. No universal running-cost estimate is being attached to the Rs 11,899 figure here.
Copying, space and warranty
The 525 uses a flatbed scanner. Its data sheet specifies a maximum scan area of 216 x 297 mm, an input capacity of up to 100 sheets and output capacity of up to 30 sheets. These capacities do not turn the flatbed into a batch document feeder; original pages still need the appropriate handling on the glass.
Two-sided printing is manual, with driver support. That means the paper-handling step remains part of the task when preparing back-to-back worksheets or notes. Check the page order and orientation with a small job before committing a complete document, particularly when the file mixes portrait and landscape pages.
HP states a limited hardware warranty of one year or 30,000 pages, whichever comes first, from purchase. Keep the invoice and exact product code with the printer records. That stated warranty is separate from any optional service plan or store promotion, and it should not be confused with the machine recommended monthly workload.
