NEW DELHI: Honda Activa110 owners using Extended Warranty Plus must account for a 120-day waiting period after policy purchase before a claim can be entertained. Honda's linked terms also require prompt fault notification and prior claim authorisation. These conditions belong to EW Plus; they should not be confused with the scooter's standard warranty or a separately purchased maintenance package.
| Check | Official position |
|---|---|
| Activa110 standard warranty | 3 years or 36,000 km, whichever comes first |
| EW Plus enrolment window | From 91 days to the ninth year of vehicle age, subject to eligibility |
| EW Plus waiting period | 120 days after policy purchase |
| Fault notification under EW Plus | No later than 14 days after the fault becomes apparent |
| BSVI service gap in EW Plus terms | No more than 6,000 km or 6 months, whichever is sooner |
Read the policy name on the invoice
Honda offers products called Extended Warranty and Extended Warranty Plus. Its regular Extended Warranty FAQ gives a purchase window within 90 days of vehicle purchase. EW Plus is the later-entry scheme, with sale dependent on the vehicle's condition and distance covered. A verbal reference to an extended warranty does not identify which rules apply.
Start by finding the actual policy invoice and registration details. Check the vehicle identified, the policy period and the distance limit recorded there. If the wording is unclear, ask the supplying dealer to identify the product in writing. That is a practical record-keeping step, rather than a guarantee that a particular repair will be accepted.
The Activa110 is the 109.51 cc petrol scooter on Honda's current page, with a listed 5.3-litre fuel tank. Use that exact model identity when discussing coverage. Honda's service pages also carry electric-vehicle packages and motorcycle sections, so selecting the correct scooter section matters before copying a period or kilometre limit into a personal checklist.
Gather the service evidence before a fault becomes urgent
Keep service invoices and the policy document together. Honda's terms require proof of the prescribed servicing, while its Activa110 page lists paid servicing every 6,000 km or within six months. A receipt showing what was done is more useful than relying on a recollection that the scooter visited a workshop.
For a shared family Activa, keep the records accessible to the person who normally takes it for service. If the household changes who handles appointments, pass on the policy information with the keys. An appointment missed through a handover problem can create a discussion that has little to do with the mechanical fault itself.
Before purchasing EW Plus, ask how any existing extension affects the new policy's dates. Honda says EW Plus can be added even when an extended warranty is active. The useful result is a written timeline for the particular scooter, with its applicable limits, rather than a general promise about the maximum years advertised.
Report the fault before approving a repair
When a fault appears, record its symptoms and when they started, then take the policy details to an authorised Honda service outlet. Ask the outlet to arrange notification to the warranty service provider and retain evidence of it. Honda's terms reject liability for breakdown claims notified more than 14 days after the fault became apparent.
The same terms require a claims authority number before repairs commence under EW Plus. Ask which work has been authorised and which work is being proposed at your expense. Do not assume that paying for a repair first means the bill will later be reimbursed under the policy.
Honda advertises H-Smart key technology, a TFT display and smartphone connectivity on the current Activa110 page. For an electrical complaint, have the workshop name the failed component and the relevant policy provision. A complaint about starting, a remote key or a display should be diagnosed specifically; a feature name alone does not establish why it failed or whether the policy covers that failure.
Keep a claim separate from routine upkeep
Honda's standard-warranty FAQ excludes normal wear items and consumables, while the EW Plus document has its own exclusions and conditions. Ask for an itemised explanation if a visit combines a claim with routine work. Keep any coverage decision with the diagnosis and estimate, making the next conversation easier to follow.
