NEW DELHI: Dreame India's robot-vacuum warranty table gives electrical components one year of coverage, plastic parts three months and consumables no warranty. An owner reporting a fault should identify the failed part before assuming that the whole cleaner carries the same period of protection.
| Category in India policy | Examples | Listed coverage |
|---|---|---|
| Robot electrical parts | Battery, motors, sensors and circuit boards | 1 year |
| Robot plastic parts | Body panels, water tank and dust box | 3 months |
| Robot consumables | Mop pads, filter and brushes | No warranty |
| All-in-one station electrical parts | Motors and circuit boards | 1 year |
Start with the part and the symptom
A robot cleaner is a collection of systems: it travels, collects dirt, carries water on equipped models and communicates with its base. A complaint that it has stopped cleaning can involve very different components. The category table is therefore more useful than an unqualified claim that the machine is still within warranty.
Consider the D10 Plus Gen 2 as a concrete example. Dreame advertises an auto-empty base with a 4-litre dust bag, vacuuming and mopping, a 5,200mAh battery and 6,000Pa suction. Those features put a reusable electrical appliance and replaceable cleaning materials into the same daily routine. Their warranty treatment can differ even though they arrived in the same box.
A battery symptom and a worn brush should consequently be described separately. The person handling a service request needs to know whether the machine fails to charge, stops unexpectedly, fails to collect debris or has a visibly damaged attachment. Recording what happens gives the complaint substance without attempting to diagnose an internal fault at home.
Build a clear service record
Have the invoice, exact model name, delivery record and a description of the problem ready. A short video of the symptom and any displayed error can help document a fault. Keep copies of the submitted material and the response so that a later discussion refers to the same appliance and the same complaint.
Dreame says a verified manufacturing defect can receive free warranty repair. Covered work includes inspection, materials, labour and shipping; customer-caused or out-of-warranty work can carry repair, parts and return-transport charges. This makes the coverage decision important before a machine is sent away.
Ask for the proposed repair scope and any charge in writing. If the service assessment describes a different failed component from the one originally reported, retain that explanation with the case record. The purpose is to make the handover and the eventual outcome traceable, especially when the robot and its base are separate items.
Keep the invoice despite an inconsistency
The policy requires the original invoice for warranty claims, yet another section gives a manufacturing-date fallback when purchase proof is lost. The page does not reconcile those statements. Owners without an invoice should seek written clarification; the fallback wording should not be treated as guaranteed claim acceptance.
This is a practical reason to keep a readable invoice copy somewhere other than the shipping carton. A carton may be put away after setup, while a service issue can arise during routine use. Retaining the purchase record makes it easier to connect the claim to the supplied model and the responsible sales channel.
Maintenance and a fault claim need different records
For the D10 Plus Gen 2, automatic dust collection still leaves a dust bag and cleaning accessories in the ownership routine. A convenient base does not make those materials permanent. Keep maintenance notes separate from a fault description so that a request for replacement consumables is not confused with a report about an electrical failure.
A repair request also benefits from a clear inventory. Record which items are being handed over and keep the acknowledgement. If the complaint concerns only the base, obtain instructions on whether the robot is also needed. That avoids uncertainty about what was supplied for inspection and what should come back afterwards.
