NEW DELHI: Whirlpool's India website gives its own online appliance customers 7 days from delivery to request a return by email. Its policy then provides for refund or replacement processing within 30 days of pickup, subject to its business-day and working-hour qualifications. The request and processing windows begin at different events.
| Policy point | Official requirement |
|---|---|
| Eligible purchase | Product bought from india.whirlpool.in |
| Return request | Email wstore@whirlpool.in |
| Request deadline | Within 7 days of delivery date and time |
| Processing period | Within 30 days of pickup, with working-day qualifications |
The store calls this its no-questions-asked return policy, but acceptance has conditions. The appliance must be the supplied product, undamaged in the customer's possession, with original packaging, tags, documentation and accessories intact. The original invoice is required. Whirlpool says external damage discovered after use will not qualify under this replacement or refund provision.
Build a clear delivery record
A practical first step is to keep the order confirmation, invoice and delivery acknowledgement together. Add photographs of the carton and appliance if there is a visible problem. These photographs are a useful record of what arrived; they are not presented here as an extra condition invented by the company.
Write the delivery date and time into the return email and identify the exact appliance and order number. State the problem or requested outcome plainly. Keep the sent message and any acknowledgement in the same folder so that a later discussion can follow the sequence without relying on memory or an isolated phone conversation.
Do not confuse installation with delivery
Whirlpool's separate delivery terms say access restrictions can affect the handover. They mention society visiting hours, vehicle-entry limits, stairs and lift availability. The practical consequence is that an expected delivery date and the actual handover can differ. Preserve the actual delivery record instead of using an earlier shipping notification as a substitute.
Installation is another appointment. The delivery page says an authorised service partner calls to arrange it and that site readiness matters, including necessary electrical arrangements. It also states that applicable installation charges are payable by the customer. Keep the delivery acknowledgement and installation job sheet as separate records, even when both events happen close together.
Use the right channel for the right request
The return page requires the dedicated store email route. Whirlpool's broader customer-care page separately lists helpdeskindia@whirlpool.in and the telephone number 080 651 88 888. It also offers service-request and order-tracking options. Those support routes can help with an appliance problem, but should not be treated as a replacement for the specified return email.
The same customer-care page provides servicehead_india@whirlpool.in as an escalation contact. If an issue remains unresolved, a concise account is easier to assess than a fresh complaint with missing context. Include the order reference, earlier complaint reference if available, what happened at delivery and the response already received. Ask for the next step in writing.
At pickup, retain the collection acknowledgement and the appliance identification shown on it. The policy says the decision between refund and replacement follows discussion with the customer. A written record of that agreed outcome helps distinguish the collection of the product from completion of the remedy.
An official route for unresolved grievances
The Department of Consumer Affairs' National Consumer Helpline lists the toll-free number 1915, available from 8 am to 8 pm. Its public website also provides routes through its online portal, NCH app, UMANG and WhatsApp. These are government grievance channels that consumers can consult when a dispute remains unresolved.
Prepare a short chronology before escalating: order placed, appliance delivered, issue identified, request sent, response received and any pickup completed. Attach the relevant records where the chosen channel permits them. The purpose is to make the disagreement clear, whether it concerns eligibility, collection, the agreed replacement or a pending refund. A grievance route should not be described as a promise of a particular outcome.
