Banaras Hindu University’s planned Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (BVSc and AH) spot admission round will not proceed as originally scheduled. Its October 12 corrigendum makes rescheduling conditional on Veterinary Council of India permission.

The change matters for applicants who had been following the university’s original 2026-27 information bulletin. That document listed October 14 for the mop-up round and October 15 as the tentative reporting or commencement date. Those entries should not be treated as confirmation that a fresh admission round is taking place today.

In its new corrigendum, BHU’s Central Admission Committee attributes the change to a VCI notification requiring completion of admissions by September 30, 2026. The university has not supplied a replacement date in this notice. It asks candidates to follow its official website for further notifications.

The notice concerns spot admissions. The notice does not announce cancellation of existing allotments or suspension of classes. Already admitted students should follow their own reporting instructions.

Why the original calendar no longer settles the question

The October notice follows an earlier intervention in the same admission cycle. In a September 26 corrigendum, the committee said the first and subsequent rounds had been brought forward with reference to the VCI admission timeline. Results were to begin from September 26, rather than the initial timetable’s later sequence.

BHU’s Round 3 notice, dated September 30, records the revised process in practice. It gave allotted candidates until 11.55 pm that day to pay their admission fee. It also told candidates to check their admission dashboard and satisfy the eligibility requirements before payment. That was a completed September deadline, not an October payment invitation.

The same historical Round 3 table marked the unreserved and EWS categories as having no vacancy. It listed NEET All India Rank cutoffs of 56,104 for OBC, 193,812 for SC and 211,389 for ST. These figures describe that round; they do not establish how many seats are available now or a cutoff for a future spot round.

Any further spot round remains conditional on VCI permission; the notice announces neither fresh registration nor current vacancies.

For provisionally admitted students, the bulletin describes original-document verification as a separate step after online admission and fee payment. The required records include school marksheets and certificates, the NEET admit card and scorecard, and applicable category documents. This is different from opening a new round for applicants still without an allotment.

BHU admissions and the VCI quota are separate routes

The course covered by the notice is offered at BHU’s Rajiv Gandhi South Campus in Barkachha, Mirzapur. The 2026-27 programme bulletin lists a maximum intake of 60, with nine seats under the VCI’s 15 per cent share and 51 filled by BHU. The intake is the programme’s capacity, not a count of seats left for October.

The council’s own August 14 counselling bulletin describes its all-India quota process separately. Its seat matrix lists nine VCI seats for BHU’s Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences. The published council calendar placed first-round, second-round and stray-round activity in August and September, with stray-round reporting ending on September 15.

This distinction matters when reading admission updates. A BHU spot-round notice does not itself reopen the council’s counselling process. Equally, an old VCI seat matrix does not show the current balance of university-managed seats. Applicants need the notice for the route through which they are seeking admission, rather than assuming that every veterinary counselling announcement applies to their application.

At the October 14 check, the university’s admission homepage put the October 12 spot-round corrigendum at the top of its active notices. The older registration announcement remained visible elsewhere on the same page. Reading the dated corrigendum alongside the original bulletin is therefore necessary before relying on a calendar entry.

Dalimss News previously reported the first-round allotment and the second-round cutoffs and fee deadline. Those reports describe earlier stages; the October 12 corrigendum is the subsequent change affecting the planned spot round.
