NEW DELHI: Ashok Leyland's AVTR 4525H DTLA starts at Rs 49,70,000 on the company's website, against Rs 55,90,000 for the AVTR 4925H DTLA. Both amounts are published as onwards prices. The main distinction visible in their overviews is gross vehicle weight: 35 to 45 tonnes for the 4525H listing and 49 tonnes for the 4925H.

Price as of 3 November 2026, 23:56 IST. The official listing supplies starting amounts, rather than a matching configuration price for each cabin and body choice. These figures therefore establish the advertised entry points, without establishing the cost of two identically equipped finished trucks.
A higher weight rating does not mean a longer body
The matching loading-span range is a useful detail in this pairing. The 4925H's larger gross vehicle weight figure does not bring a longer maximum span in these overview pages. For a transporter whose consignments fill the available length before reaching the permitted weight, that distinction deserves to remain separate from the price difference.
A dense load presents another question. Steel products or bagged material can impose different demands from bulky, light cartons. The relevant comparison would examine the finished vehicle's permitted loading, tare weight and load distribution. The published gross weight alone does not establish how much cargo can be placed on either particular truck.
That is especially relevant when a body is being specified around an established loading bay. Keeping the length unchanged may matter to the handling routine, but it does not establish that two trucks have the same turning requirements or axle arrangement. Neither inference follows from the shared loading-span endpoints.
What the 4925H specification actually lists
The separately opened 4925H technical page identifies a six-cylinder H-series engine, with 6.0-litre capacity and 184 kW power. It also lists a 9S1110 gearbox with nine-speed direct drive. These are specifications of that published sheet, rather than figures inferred from the model badge.
The same sheet lists rear air suspension and a rectangular polymer fuel tank with 375-litre capacity. Its loading spans are 8.7, 9.3 and 9.7 metres. Cabin descriptions include U-Value, N-Premium and G Cowl, with air-conditioning referenced in the cabin options. The public starting price is not assigned to any of those choices.
We have not copied that technical sheet into the 4525H column. During verification, the 4525H overview's specification link led to a page headed 4925H. A shared link is insufficient evidence that both trucks carry identical equipment. The comparison table therefore uses only information clearly identified on each vehicle's own overview.
The cabin choice adds another configuration question. A cowl entry and a completed cabin should not be described as equivalent equipment solely because they sit within the same catalogue. The price listing leaves that matching exercise unresolved, so the starting amounts remain clearly labelled.
Different jobs within heavy haulage
Ashok Leyland names market loads, cement, iron and steel, tankers and construction material among the 4925H's applications. That breadth helps explain why the body configuration matters. A tanker and a general cargo body may share a vehicle platform, but their working equipment and loading processes are plainly different.
For an Indian fleet serving both industrial customers and distribution depots, those differences belong in the operating plan before any earnings forecast is attempted. The website does not provide a verified fuel-consumption comparison or a matched route trial for this pair. There is consequently no supported basis here for claiming that the higher-priced vehicle recovers its premium through a particular daily saving.
