NEW DELHI: ASUS's India announcement puts the TUF Gaming F16 FX607 at a starting SRP of Rs 1,35,990, below the TUF Gaming A16 FA608's Rs 1,99,990. These are the family starting prices published on 25 August 2026. The comparison is between an Intel-based F16 range and an AMD-based A16 range, with configuration suffixes determining the actual graphics, display and memory.

Read the price as a family starting point

Price as of 2 November 2026, 00:32 IST: these figures remain the starting SRPs stated in ASUS's dated launch release. They are not a live checkout quotation or a claim that the highest specification in either family is included for the starting amount. The release does not provide a fully itemised configuration beside each price.

This is particularly relevant for these two ranges because their short names sound much closer than their configuration directories look. The letter A or F identifies a different platform family; the longer FA608 or FX607 code narrows it further. The remaining suffix is still necessary before comparing an actual machine with another quotation.

The A16 directory contains distinct graphics options

ASUS's India technical page lists FA608UMI with a Ryzen 7 260, GeForce RTX 5060 and 8GB GDDR7 graphics memory. Its listed display is a 16-inch Full HD+ panel at 144Hz. The same column lists 16GB DDR5 memory and a 512GB SSD. This is an example from the technical directory, rather than an identification of the Rs 1,99,990 starting configuration.

The directory also includes FA608UH with RTX 5050 graphics and FA608PP with a different processor and RTX 5070 graphics. That spread explains why the A16 name cannot serve as a complete performance description. Nor should a specification from the top of the product page be combined with the cheapest number found elsewhere on the website.

The F16 has its own memory split

For FX607VB, ASUS's India specifications list Core 5 210H, RTX 3050A graphics, 16GB DDR4-3200 memory and a 512GB SSD. Its Full HD+ display runs at 144Hz. Another listed branch, FX607VU, combines Core 5 210H with RTX 4050 graphics and DDR5 memory. Again, the announcement does not assign either branch to its starting SRP.

That DDR4 and DDR5 distinction is useful for anyone planning to retain a laptop through college or office work. Memory modules are not interchangeable merely because both machines have accessible slots. A future upgrade needs to match the specific branch's memory standard, rather than a broad claim that the F16 supports expansion.

Storage needs a similar reading. An expansion-slot count describes physical accommodation, while installed storage describes what arrives with the machine. Neither tells the reader the price of a later upgrade. No upgrade cost or assumed savings has been added to this comparison.

What the specifications establish, and what they leave open

The named examples share a Full HD+ refresh-rate figure, but that does not make their graphics hardware equivalent. A display's refresh rate is a ceiling for how often it can update, not a measured result for a game. ASUS's launch prices and technical tables do not constitute a matched benchmark test.

For an Indian household comparing laptops for both coursework and games, this leaves a concrete distinction: the published entry prices describe the ranges, while a useful performance comparison requires the exact suffix. Treating an A16 with one GPU as representative of every FA608, or an F16 with one memory type as representative of every FX607, would erase the differences the official directory actually documents.

Our Laptop and tablet price guide covers a separate model despite the similar name. Those accessories introduce further specifications that a laptop family name cannot answer on its own.
