The West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee has published the Round 1 seat matrix for UG AYUSH counselling 2026. The matrix, printed on 21 September, lists institute-wise seats in Ayurveda (BAMS), Homoeopathy (BHMS), Unani (BUMS) and Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences (BNYS) under state quota, private college management quota and private college AIQ seats. State quota rows carry category columns for UR, EWS, OBC, SC and ST, with PwD seats within each.

What the Round 1 matrix contains

The matrix has 30 rows and 629 seats in all: 456 state quota seats, 126 management quota seats in private colleges and 47 private college AIQ seats. Homoeopathy has the largest share, with 388 BHMS seats, followed by 159 BAMS seats, 50 BNYS seats and 32 BUMS seats.

J.B. Roy State Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata, opens the list with 64 state quota BAMS seats: 34 UR, 2 UR PwD, 6 EWS, 4 OBC, 13 SC, 1 SC PwD and 4 ST. Four government homoeopathic colleges, Mahesh Bhattacharyya Homoeopathic Medical College, The Calcutta Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, Midnapore Homoeopathic Medical College and D.N. De Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, have 53 state quota seats each. Shri Yoga and Naturopathy Govt. Medical College and Hospital, Belur, Howrah, has 50 state quota BNYS seats.

Private institutes such as Raghunath Ayurved Mahavidyalaya and Hospital and Belley Sankarpur Rajib Gandhi Memorial Ayurvedic College and Hospital have separate rows for state quota, management quota and AIQ seats. Private homoeopathic colleges on the list include Burdwan, Pratap Chandra, Metropolitan, Birbhum Vivekananda and Netai Charan Chakravarty, and The Calcutta Unani Medical College and Hospital offers the BUMS seats. The participating institute list issued the same day gives each college's address, contact number, email and principal.

The Round 1 timetable

Under WBMCC's tentative schedule of 10 September, online registration for NEET UG 2026 qualified candidates ran from 11 am on 17 September to 6 pm on 19 September, with fee payment open until midnight on 19 September. Registered candidates then had their documents verified at a designated college in a time slot assigned by the software on 18, 19 and 21 September, from 11 am to 4 pm.

The list of successfully verified candidates and the Round 1 seat matrix were due after 5 pm on 21 September. Only candidates on that verified list can fill and lock choices, from after 6 pm on 21 September until 10 am on 23 September, as per server time. The Round 1 allotment result was due after 4 pm on 25 September. Reporting and admission at the allotted institute were scheduled for 28, 29 and 30 September, from 11 am to 4 pm, with original documents, the college fee and the bond, after a second physical document check.

Registration and choice-filling manuals

Candidates seeking state quota, private management quota or private college AIQ seats in West Bengal register through the UG AYUSH menu on https://wbmcc.nic.in/. WBMCC has posted two user manuals, one for candidate registration and one for seat choice filling. Both are marked UG AYUSH Counselling 2026 and issued by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal. The counselling page also carries the information bulletin, the EWS memorandum, a medical certificate format and the domicile proforma.

The schedule lists Round 2 registration from 3 to 4 October and the Round 2 seat matrix after 5 pm on 6 October, followed by a third round and stray vacancy rounds in October and November. The Round 1 matrix and institute list are the reference documents for Round 1 choices until WBMCC posts revised files.
