NEW DELHI: Voltas Vectra Zenith air conditioners are listed from Rs 35,000 to Rs 49,990 on the company's India website. The range covered here includes the 1.5 ton Zenith Silver cooling model and the 1.5 ton and 2 ton Zenith hot-and-cold models. The full model code matters because these are different appliances under a similar name.

They are a current price snapshot; the gap between MRP and the displayed selling price does not establish that the company has announced a fresh price cut.

What the Silver model includes

The 183INV Zenith Silver is the cooling option in this group. Voltas gives it a cooling capacity of 5000 W, a five-step adjustable mode and two-way swing. Its specification list also includes a copper system, a dust filter with an antimicrobial coating and protective coatings on the evaporator and condenser.

Voltas lists operation in high ambient temperatures up to 52 degrees Celsius. That is an operating claim from the manufacturer, rather than a measurement of the temperature an installed machine will achieve in a particular home. The product's filter-clean reminder, sleep mode and memory restart are more relevant to routine use than the headline maximum temperature alone.

The HC versions add heating

The 183INVHC is explicitly described as a hot-and-cold AC. It retains the 1.5 ton marketing capacity and 3 star rating, with a listed cooling capacity of 5000 W. A household looking at these two similarly named machines is therefore comparing operating functions as well as prices, rather than simply moving to a larger cooling unit.

There is an additional detail in the smaller HC model's specification: Voltas limits its five-step adjustment, gas-leak detection and installation-check functions to the cooling cycle. Those qualifications should travel with the feature names when comparing a quotation. A general description of an all-weather machine does not mean every mode has identical controls.

The 243INVHC takes the hot-and-cold format to the 2 ton class. Its page lists two-way swing, five-step adjustment, memory restart and sleep mode. It also names a compressor acoustic jacket and protective coil coatings. The current product text does not give a numerical cooling output in watts, so no watt figure is assigned to that version here.

Read the code before comparing the bill

The practical distinction is clear: Zenith Silver, Zenith with HC in the code, and the larger HC version occupy separate rows. A quotation that says only Vectra Zenith leaves out information needed to identify the machine. Matching the invoice description to the complete official code is a useful way to avoid treating a cooling-only listing as the same product as a heating-capable one.

The 3 star label appears on all three listings. That shared label should not be read as proof of an identical electricity bill. This comparison records the rating and the capacities stated by Voltas; it does not calculate running costs or promise a particular saving for a household.

Keep the installed cost separate

The product pages require a serviceability check and say shipping is calculated at checkout. That leaves the final order dependent on the delivery address. A displayed product price is useful for comparing the machines, but the written order and installation scope remain the places to confirm the amount payable for a particular home.
